I never check my emails. Probably not a great habit to have, but see it stems from college. Whenever I got emails it was almost always negative news from professors. Just telling me how I fucked up and I don't need that negativity on my life. So what did I do? I buried my head in the sand and just acted like nothing ever happened. As one of my friends always says "You can't have an STD if you don't get tested." So I just wouldn't look at my emails. Probably not my smartest move, I can think of a few instances in particular where I got yelled at for "not being professional" for not checking my emails. But I mean look at me now. I have the piece of paper somewhere in my room that says I graduated college and I'm thriving as a pizza delivery driver/aspiring blogger. I think I made the right call here. Well anyways, I checked my emails today for the first time since I left for Florida on Thursday. Let me tell ya, I had not, 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not, 6, not 7 emails from this guy from Australia. AUSTRALIA. Some one down under knows about DOL which is insane. Isn't it like 4 days in the future in Australia? If you know anything about me, I hate(d) Australia. Strictly because that country caused me and my gf to break up when she studied abroad. I was young(er) and stupid, it caused me to hate an entire continent/country. I don't like to blog about it her because it looks petty, but I swear I am over it all, I think my ability to joke about the topic shows that. Everything is copacetic . Just had to give the backstory for my stupid hate for an entire continent. I'm over her, I'm not gonna "sook" but I had been holding a grudge against the Aussies since 2013. Well consider the grudge dissolved. I have to finally forgive that nation. If they are reading DOL down under then I cannot in good faith hate Australia. Just not the type of bloke I am. Aye mates, if you wanna throw some shrimp on the barbie, pound some amber fluid and get full as a boot, then lets give it a burl! It's pretty crazy to me the blokes and shelias are checking out DOL. I thought they'd be busy eating vegemite sandwiches and making sure they don't get attacked by some Roos. I have friends who live down the street that won't read my blogs (bad friends) but this Aussie at the very least knows my website exists. Good onya to anybody else who does read DOL, that includes the people reading this right now, thank you, and welcome to DOL. (Just kidding btw, it was only 2 emails but felt like dropping that Lebron reference.) I just can't believe I got an email from a guy in Australia. Yes, Australia, reaching out to little ole dozo to get featured on my blog. What a world! While it is probably just spam, I could sure use the content so I'm going to share what this bloke sent to me. Hi , My name is Justin Taylor, I work with Supplement Mart in Australia. I love creating content about my passions – sports and fitness. With the Summer Olympics in Rio fast approaching, I thought it would be interesting to research some of the rising stars in all sports, from swimming to athletics, cycling to gymnastics. I made this infographic https://www.supplementmart.com.au/ig/Rio-Olympics-2016-Infographic.jpg , that features some of the most promising potential gold medal winners as well as some facts on the Olympic event. Just sending it over to you – maybe your readers would like to learn more about some of the brightest Olympic stars? It would be great if you’d like to publish it, all I would ask is that you kindly credit my website using this URL- https://www.supplementmart.com.au/products/testosterone-boosters . If you have any feedback or questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, let me know if you require a custom introduction to accompany the infographic in one of your posts! Warm regards, Justin G'day!! So apparently my newest employee (hope you don't mind working for free) Justin Taylor wants me to share an info-graph he made about some athletes to look at for in the Olympics. As I have Olympic fever currently and am just a generally good guy and willing to help out my fellow man; here is what Justin wanted to me share. Kind of tough to read when it's this narrow, but you should be able to zoom in. All Justin asked was that I properly credit him and his website, where it looks like he sells testosterone (steroids). I'm not gonna pass any judgements here.
Here is your credit mate. https://www.supplementmart.com.au/products/testosterone-boosters. I guess this is my first reader email blog. Maybe I will make it after-all?! Anybody else that wants to send me stuff to blog about you can reach me through weebly or just hmu on twitter.

OF COURSE Tebow was hitting with football gloves on.
It was announced this morning that Tim Tebow is going to try to play pro baseball. Much like Tebowmania in 2011 it already seems to be the biggest thing ESPN is talking about. I mean look at my phone notifications from this morning when I woke up. (Up before 10 NBD)
All that coverage is what I believe led to Tebow's demise.
It's no secret I am a Tim Tebow guy. He's my favorite non-Boston athlete of all time. Even though he had a brief stint with the Pats in training camp of 2013 I'm not gonna call him a "Boston athlete". When he was at UF I was absolutely obsessed with Tim Tebow. IMO he is the greatest college QB of all time. He should have two Heismans. In 08 he actually had the most 1st place votes but still somehow finished in 3rd. I don't get how that happens. My love for Tim Tebow is only rivaled by one man, and his name is Tom Brady. Now as the biggest Tim Tebow fan north of the Mason-Dixon line you'd probably think I love this move and that is where you are entirely wrong.
Of all pro sports I think MLB is the hardest to make talent wise. NBA is tough too because the rosters are the smallest of all pro sports but talent wise I think baseball is the toughest to go in. Hitting (well) in baseball IMO is the hardest single aspect of any pro sport.
Tebow is going be 29 soon and most importantly he hasn't played baseball since his junior year of HS in 2005. Other than maybe some church league softball, I don't think he's swung a bat in over a decade. I think the odds of him becoming a major league OF this late in life, with no baseball in over a decade are wayyyyyyy slimmer than him getting another shot in the NFL. It just doesn't make sense to me that this is happened.... Tebow wouldn't change positions to stay in the NFL, but he's going to change sports entirely? Just don't get it, many are saying it's a publicity stunt, which it surely could be, but it just doesn't make any sense to me. Even if he gets signed he's gonna go to single A ball. Does Tim Tebow who has lived in luxury for the last decade basically really want to go around the country on a greyhound bus in the minors? I'm hoping this is just a cry for help and that maybe one NFL team will say "enough" we'll bring you to camp so you don't have to embarrass yourself in low A minor league baseball at 29 years old. This all just leads me to my main point. Luckily this story broke and gives me a platform to say it without just sounding like a crazy person brining it up out of the blue, but it is a complete joke that Tim Tebow has not played in a regular season NFL game since 2012.
As a Tim Tebow guy I understand all the criticism of him on the field. His accuracy and throwing motion where not what you typically see from an NFL quarterback, yet in his one partial season as a starter he went 8-5 (including playoffs). I know Tebow did it ugly, but he found a way to win games. Unlike Peyton Manning this year, he actually led scoring drives on offense and didn't just rely on pick 6's to score points.
I get it Tebow will never be Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady, but the fact that he isn't a back-up blows my mind. There are sooooo many bum ass quarterbacks in the NFL that get shot, after shot, after shot. I mean look at Zach Mettenberger. I'm pretty sure he's 0-10 lifetime as a starter, with more INTs than TDs yet he just signed with San Diego to just hold a clipboard. Luke McCown has been floating around the NFL as a back up since 2004 and has a whopping career stat line of 9 TDs 15 INTs and 2,345 passing yards. He's trash. Brian Hoyer has been given multiple chances to start when he may be the worst QB of all time. Tyrod Taylor is basically the black, right handed Tim Tebow...seriously look at his passing stats, yet everybody thinks he can play in Buffalo. Meanwhile, Tim Tebow led the pitiful 1-4 Denver Broncos to a division title and playoff win against the defending AFC champs. I know it was ugly, believe me I get it, I watched a lot of those games, but he was making progress. Then he basically had his career murdered by that horse face fuck John Elway. Tebow's stats may have sucked at times, but he got it done. He had a IT factor, there was just something about him where he showed glimpses over greatness and really never got a chance to succeed. Once he got shipped off the the Jets he never was given a fair shot. Even when Sanchez got hurt they started fucking Greg McElroy over Tebow which is so ridiculous. They had him on the punt team for God's sake. Then after the season he was cut, went to camp with the Pats in 2013 and Eagles in 2015 but didn't make either team. While he was awful with my Pats that preseason, with the Eagles he actually looked good. Better than I had seen him play in a long time. In that final preseason game I truly believe he played well enough to make the team. However Timmy hasn't played in the NFL since 2012.
To this day I believe he is good enough to be a back up QB. Personally I think teams do not want to deal with the distractions, which I understand, but I think if he held a clipboard for a couple years, the coverage would die down. I truly believe because of the huge media following Tebow has he was blacklisted by the NFL. While there are other guys out there who fit the typical mold of NFL back-up QB I think teams just don't wanna allocate the time and resources it would take to make Tebow work. I think because he is unorthodox, an outspoken Christian, and the media coverage he gets teams just decided he wasn't worth the headache to be a back up QB so they just decided there was no place for him in the NFL.
I completely disagree, I think if you mold your offense around him Tebow could still succeed at this level, and what really bums me out is he was never given an opportunity to fail. His last career start came in the divisional round against my Patriots, and they lost in a laugher 45-10. While Tebow played poorly in that game, he wasn't on defense giving up 45 points. He wasn't getting torched by Rob Gronkowski. Also that Pats team went 13-3 while the Broncos were 8-8, that was what was supposed to happen. I just can't believe he was never given another shot as a starter. So many teams in the NFL had awful QBs at the time, and again say whatever you want about Tebow, he pulled off some miracles in 2011 and found ways to win, which in the NFL is all the matters. How has Bruce Gradkowski or Matt McGloin hung around for years while accomplishing next to nothing, while Tim Tebow who had success in the NFL has been on his couch for 4 years? Makes ZERO sense. His last NFL start was a playoff game, not many QBs can say that unless they retired after that season. How did Tebow not get a chance? You'll never be able to explain how a guy who pulled off those miracles in Denver, and frankly turned that franchise around never got a legit chance to start in the NFL again. Because without Tebow showcasing the Broncos, (who up until 2011 were irrelevant since 2005) there is no way they sign Peyton Manning and become one of the premiere teams in the AFC. Maybe he would've failed, and probably would have, but the fact that he was never given that chance is ridiculous to me, especially when you look at a lot of NFL teams depth charts at QB. As for baseball, I hope it works out for Timmy, I really do. I'd love to see him prove the doubters wrong and hang around as a major league outfielder for a few years. That would be awesome, I just don't see it happening this late in life. I'm just so bummed Tebow never got a fair shot in the NFL. I really think if he was given the proper opportunity he could've made it. But I guess for now (and most likely for forever) that Tebow's NFL chances are gone. It sucks. And the answer is yes, of course I want the Red Sox to sign him. Song: Rick Ross featuring Nelly and Avery Storm Artist: Here I Am Album: Trilla (2008) Absolute banger in Summer 08. To anybody reading this far; Thank You. Idk if I used a ; correctly oh well.... Anyways I'm going to Florida today until Monday for my sister's college graduation. Flying into Orlando then driving straight to Tallahassee. So I'm gonna be in the car longer than in the air (assuming that the plane does not crash). Going to be such a long, shitty day. I HATE flying. Very scared of heights/terrorist attack/everything. Also get to be Florida in August. So excited about that......Fucking kill me (if the humidity doesn't) this update is mainly to say there will be no blogs until Tuesday. TBH wouldn't be shocked if I wasn't back on DOL until Wednesday (sorry I'll have soooo much jet lag flying south to north). As much as I'd like to blog while I'm gone I will not be able to; will be way too busy. (did I use the semi colon correctly?) If you are a higher up at Barstool checking up on me, because you haven't emailed back but just keeping up with my blog to see what I do after the email be sure to follow me on twitter @rhodydoz to see what's going on. Also IG at the same tag @rhodydoz. I'll be storying there and on snap. Hit my direct line for my snapchat. I'll be emailing you again when I return so be ready for that. Honestly I can save Barstool. See you guys soon. Thanks for reading! Have a good weekend.
What can I say to the man who already has it all?
I love you.
All I say can is Happy Birthday to the GOAT himself, TB12, Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr.
Cool to see fans show him love at training camp today. Deep down though it is crazy to think how much we care about him. I for one have no issue with it whatsoever. Tom Brady is everything.
No person is responsible for more joy (and heartbreak) than Tom Brady. It is at a point kind of crazy to think how obsessed I am with a 39 year old who throws a ball like 80 miles from my house but that's okay life is weird AF and don't need to explain myself to anybody.
Tom at 39 I wish you nothing but the best, here's to a healthy year, full of great memories, most importantly a 5th Super Bowl win in Houston in a few months. Cannot wait. Go crazy with some avocado ice cream tonight Tommy Boy, you and the family deserve it. See you week 5 when you go 15-0 to close out the year. Go Pats. ONE HIT WONDER WEDNESDAY!!!!!! Still blows my mind these ladies only had one hit because this is low key one of my biggest guilty pleasure songs of all time. IDC who you are this shit is catchy af. This is also maybe the most early 2000's video I've ever seen. Song: He Loves U Not Artist: DREAM Album: It Was All A Dream (2001)
As you may know, the Big Fundamental called it a career last month. Unlike Kobe, Jeter or David Ortiz he just quietly announced his retirement after his final season. No big tour, no gifts, no coverage really. Just walked into the sunset after a solid 19th season where the Spurs won like 65 games.
Well now it appears Timmy D may need to find something to do to fill his time now that he is not blocking and "altering" opponent shots. Yes apparently the 5 time NBA champion may but looking for a new job now that he's updated his resume. This part of his LinkedIn page went semi-viral yesterday. Let's take a look.
Just so perfect, I don't even know where to begin. Can't say I rebounded.... let's say I grabbed AND secured rebounds, on not just the offensive end, but defensive as well. You know like how we all write our resumes?
What I love about this is it just shows it doesn't matter who you are, you can be a future HOF power forward or a 24 year old part time pizza man, we all use ridiculous language on resumes to make our accomplishments, or past job requirements look more impressive than they actually are. On my resume it says I "engaged in complex discussions of lesson planning with fellow teachers" when in reality I just sat there and listened to the real teachers gossip about what kids they thought were gay. (that's what they call "a joke" in the biz, they weren't gossiping about who may be gay, they were gossiping about who is pregnant) It just makes me feel better about myself to see that EVERYBODY, regardless of their field is doing the same thing. Resumes are a joke. It's all fabrications of our accomplishments, where we use words that you literally only use in a resume. Instead of just saying I set picks for 19 years, Timmy says one of the responsibilities he had was "screening and rolling from all relevant directions. Well thank God he cleared that up, wouldn't wanna be setting screens from irrelevant directions. "Spearheading late game scoring comebacks." Am I an idiot for not even knowing what spearheading means? I know I don't have the best vocabulary but there is no way normal people use that in everyday life. I'd bet my life Tim Duncan opened up the thesaurus to find that one. Had to make this perfect and find the perfect word. And yes I truly mean opened up, Tim Duncan is the kind of guy that 100% still uses the book form of dictionaries, encyclopedias and thesauruses. No chance Timmy is a wikipedia guy. I love the (and excelled) after saying he played for the Spurs for 19 seasons too. You averaged 19 and 11 and won 5 fucking championships. Talk about your classic undersell. It's like when someone who graduated from Harvard doesn't wanna say they went to Harvard to sound pretentious, instead they'll just say I went to school "up north" or "outside Boston" when in reality it makes you sound like a bigger douche. Timmy doesn't come off that way because you can tell it's genuine AF. But Timmy, it's okay, you don't have to sell yourself short. Yes you were boring....I mean fundamentally sound on the basketball court, but you saying you played (and excelled) at basketball is like saying the sun is (sort of) hot. Whatever Tim Duncan does next, just know he can provide references upon request. Would love to see some manager at a sporting goods store call up Greg Popovic to talk about Tim Duncan's work ethic and "Socratic" locker room dialogue. P.S. I hate that on my mac it didn't auto correct to "résumé" I had to find that on google and copy and paste it. Sure I could go in correct every occurrence of resume to résumé but then I wouldn't have the P.S. Double P.S. You can totally tell when I started typing again after the copy and paste because the font is way different now. I think I'll keep it. On Monday July 18th something odd happened, my phone just stopped charging. I'd have it plugged in and there was no little lightning icon. My phone was acting like someone who got a transplant but their body was rejecting it. Basically my iPhone is acting like Tobias after he got hair plugs. My phone is still works minus the whole not charging aspect which is what really sucks cause it's not even like I did something stupid to break it. . Now I am on day 15 of not having a cell phone and it is so bizarre. I'm almost okay with it, I kind of like it at times, it adds some mystery to me and has caused me to not tweet 380 times a day. So for the most part it honestly hasn't been that bad, but then as soon as I see people on snapchat or texting then I just get wicked bad FOMO. I've done some cool stuff the last 15 days and want to share it on social media.
I've gone a couple days without a phone before but now it's been over 2 weeks and is getting a little ridiculous, I bought one off of groupon because I don't wanna get a new iPhone and be locked in when the 7 is coming out in like a month. I did that when I got an iPhone 5 3 years ago and swore I'd never be stuck with the old phone when a new one is coming out soon. But of course they sent me the wrong phone and I've been trying to get that whole situation figured out. Who knew unlocking an iPhone would be such a fucking process? Maybe I'll just be that dude who doesn't have a phone. Is that cool? Would be a very hipster move of me. But my main point I want to write about is how the hell did ANYTHING happen before cell phones? Now I'm probably gonna sound like a complaining millennial but I'm 100% serious. I get it people used house phones and there were pay phones everywhere, I can even remember using a pay phone as a kid. But It is almost impossible to make plans when you don't have a cell phone. I was driving to a bar last week and straight up saw a friend leaving work, stopped, parked my car, got out and told him to come grab a beer. That's how I've been making plans when I don't have a phone. Straight up running into people and telling them we should chill. Luckily I have an iPad too so I've been using that to text people and try to keep up to date with social media but as soon as I leave my house I'm SOL. What sucks is even without a phone I've still managed to send stupid drunk texts. I'm just a mess bro, but If I'm alone or at work I'm 100% out of the loop. No idea what's going on. It's soooooo boring when I'm driving too now that I can't text/tweet/read barstool/read anything honestly/ go on snapchat/record myself singing/check my email/go on tinder/go on Facebook/play Candy Crush/check my bank account while driving. What am I supposed do? Pay attention to the road? No lie driving without a phone is very scary, especially when you drive for your job. I know I sound like a worrier but if I get in an accident or something bad happens I'm screwed. At least back in the day I could just walk to a pay phone. That's not even an option anymore. I'm guessing there are like 29 pay phones left in the continental United States. Don't like my odds of finding one. Now I'd basically have to either ask a stranger to use their phone, which while on a highway may not be the easiest thing to do, or walk to find help. Basically I'm going to die. How anybody made plans before cell phones is mind blowing. Last weekend luckily it was the Blessing of the Fleet and I could just show up and meet my friends that were there, but is that how life worked before phones. Did people just go out and hope they ran into their friends? So fascinated by all of this. The idea of not being able to text people and having to talk to them face to face or on the phone sucks. I hate talking on the phone, I'm so bad at it, unless you're my mother I never want to to talk to you on the phone. I guess that's it I just had to get all this out since I don't have a phone and can't text anybody. Hopefully this whole fiascos will be figured out soon. Oh I have AT&T if anybody wants to hook me up with a phone so I don't have to wait another 3 days for one to get shipped in. P.S. According to google there are less than 500,000 functioning pay phones in the U.S. Technically that's a very vague answer and 29 is less than 500,000 so I may have been spot on with my guess. I don't believe for one second there are that many though, I've been a few states and haven't seen a pay phone since like 2006. My guess is there is some random pay phone bank in the middle of Wyoming or something that must make up for the majority of working pay phones remaining. Song: One of These Nights Artist: The Eagles Album: One of These Nights According to ThisDayInMusic.com One of These Nights was the #1 song in America on August 2nd 1975. Today is August 2nd.
Yesterday I didn't see a single second of the game live because I was out on a friend's boat (NBD) but watched a lot of the game when I got home on MLB TV. 9th inning is where things really got good but a few early highlights I want to discuss.
So in the top of the 9th the Sox were down 3-0. After the Sox didn't pinch hit for Hanigan and Holt who both struck out. Cannot stand Hanigan, he sucks, he has had a few decent games but I'd much rather have Vasquez be playing over him. That or ride the hot hand of Sandy Leon. He's been a cult hero this season.
After back to back K's the Sox had two men on with two outs and Mookie Betts at the plate. He hit a single to made the game 3-1. Next up was Pedroia, then this happened.
Shades of Donnie Moore from Houston Street. Man I swear the Red Sox own the Angels. Felt like we beat them in the playoffs every year when I was younger. So many huge home runs, Papi, Manny, now this two out blast from Pedey that gave the Sox the lead. Next batter Xander went yard too to give the Sox and insurance run, which with this bullpen lately is HUGE.
Sox were able to salvage a split with a team they should've won the series against, but that's baseball. After a 9-1 stretch the Sox have been playing below .500 baseball. 3-7 in their last 10 which sucks, but could be a lot worse. Baltimore and Toronto aren't that far ahead of us in the standings and with two full months to play I still love this teams chances to win the AL East. Obviously you don't want bad 10 game stretches like this but the O's and Blue Jays haven't been playing that much better lately and the division is WIDE open. I'd do a better blog but again I didn't even see this game live. Just so fucking fired up Pedey hit that homer. He's quietly having a fantastic year but has been getting overshadowed by Papi, Mookie, Xander and even JBJ. Pedey should've been all star, and I get it we already had 6 guys, but Pedey really deserved it. Had a nice double play to end the game as well.
As of right now the Sox are still in one of the top wild card spot and only a game and half behind Baltimore in the AL East. Trade deadline is today and while I don't expect the Sox to make a big splash, we do have a lot of injured guys that should be returning soon. I hate to get my hopes because I still think we're fake good. Plus they've made a very bad habit of giving games away with terrible pitching. I can think of at least 5 games off the top of my head that the Sox straight up gave away. It very well could come back to bite them in the ass and keep them out of the playoffs, but as of now we have a great shot. The American League is wide open, we've seen it many times that a team just has to get hot. In the playoffs you are only using 3 starters, and I know Price has struggled, and despite solid years from Porcello and Wright you aren't sure if you can count on them in October, the rotation could be worse. I don't expect to make the World Series but I'd say we have to 2nd best chance in the AL right now. Today the Sox start a 4 game series with the Mariners who just lost a heartbreaker to the Cubs last night in maybe the best game of the season to this point. Capped off with a walk off Jon Lester bunt. You cannot write this kind of stuff. Plus Sox don't have to face Felix Hernandez because he pitched yesterday so they get to avoid the Mariners ace. Gotta get 3-4 here.
