PORTLAND, Ore. — More than half of the anti-Trump protesters arrested in Portland didn’t vote in Oregon, according to state election records.
At least sixty-nine demonstrators either didn’t turn in a ballot or weren’t registered to vote in the state. KGW compiled a list of the 112 people arrested by the Portland Police Bureau during recent protests. Those names and ages, provided by police, were then compared to state voter logs by Multnomah County Elections officials. Records show 34 of the protesters arrested didn’t return a ballot for the November 8 election. Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren’t registered to vote in Oregon. Twenty-five protesters who were arrested did vote. KGW is still working to verify voting records for the remaining 17 protesters who were arrested.
I've been very up front with this election and everything that has ensued. I said many times that I don't like Trump or Hillary, but respect people's decision either way because there was no great candidate. That being said I think anybody who protests the election is a huge loser and I'd think that if people were protesting Hillary if she won.
This news from Oregon is absolutely insane to me. If you hate Trump, cool. Hate him all you want but it doesn't change that facts that he won fair and square. I would think though if you're going to go through all the trouble to protest him winning that you'd at least vote against him. Now I get it both candidates suck and if you didn't wanna support either of them then I guess that's cool that is your right. But do not fucking protest when you were too lazy to go vote. You lose your right to complain. If you hate Trump more vote for Hillary. If you hate Hillary more vote for Trump. You gotta pick a side, think of it more so voting against who you dislike more which is exactly what I did. You realize one of them had to win right? Like not voting for either doesn't change the fact that Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump was going to become President. Sorry Bernie bros. I hate protesters for anything, even if I agree with their stance. I just think there's better ways to go about things. Mainly because this generation has ruined protesting. However it is your right and if you're not causing problems I guess go at it... but protesting something YOU COULD'VE HAD A SAY IN but chose to abstain from is quite possibly the most outrageous thing I've ever seen. You shouldn't get the right to protest. If you protest something that you don't like when you didn't do the one actual thing you could've done to potentially change the outcome you should be thrown in jail for being too stupid to be a part of actual society. We cannot have these people roaming our streets. Man I don't understand how this country is full of so many idiots. Like I can't comprehend what goes through somebody who didn't even fucking vote that decides they're going to protest and election they decided to not be a part of.

America is still pretty shook from the election. A week later there are still people protesting and a ton of people are worried about the future of our nation. Luckily there is Bill Eichner and Jon Hamm to help out with some humor by posing the age old question: "Would You Have a Threesome with Them for a Dollar?" "Very progressive...I'm gay..... you're black.... you're plus sized, he's Jon Hamm he has a SAG award" I can't lie I didn't think I'd like this video going in, but I was cracking up. So many great lines. I've only seen this Billy Eichner guy on Parks and Rec where he played Craig Middlebrooks, a very funny extremely flamboyant and loud parks official. His addition to Parks and Rec was hilarious and makes me want to throw an episode on after I finish this post. Then there's Jon Hamm. If you don't know who Jon Hamm is you're a barbarian. He's only Don fucking Draper and also IMO one of the most handsome men alive. I can totally admit that it's 2016 and I judge the fuck out of errrrrbody. Doesn't matter who you are I can tell if you're attractive or not and Jon Hamm is. Also love how much Billy makes fun of Jon Hamm and love even more Jon Hamm makes fun of himself....imagine it was 2009 is such a great line. So many great references in this video. After watching this video it made me think about the question and how I'd answer. I hate to be lame and no fun but I'd have to decline only because I think I'd fall in love with Jon Hamm (he's fucking Don Draper) and he'd only want me for my body. It'd be a whole long ordeal that would just end very badly and while it'd be fun in the moment the heartache in the long run would outweigh the euphoria in the moment. Oh and I guess because there's no girl in the equation. So it got me thinking about celebrities I'd go gay for and I'm sure my friends will make fun of me for this blog but I mean whatever. It's my blog & I'm secure AF in myself to have a little fun. Plus a lot of dudes who I think were straight said yes to the video. If you don't have a short list of men (or women for all my loyal lady DOL readers) that you'd consider changing teams for for a night you're lying to yourself. Here are the Top 5 dudes I'd at least think about saying yes to. 5. Dave Portnoy (Barstool Sports) Now the whole reason I have this blog is hopefully get discovered for the extremely raw but funny (sometimes) talent that I am. Sometimes you gotta do things you don't want to do in order to get a job. And I'd do literally anything to be working for Barstool in NYC. I'm a Go Pres Go salt of the earth guy. Content, content, content. While I don't think either of us would enjoy it I'd at least consider blowing my way into a job like millions have people have be doing on this planet for centuries. You know where to reach me Dave. 4. Bradley Cooper Even Mike Pence thinks Bradley Cooper is a 10. 3. Tim Tebow The pillow-talk afterwards would make it all worth it. I have sooooo many questions for Tebow and I mean I feel like it'd only be fair trade. Imagine the insight I could get. Do you think the NFL blacklisted you? Am I the first person you had sex with? (I don't believe the virgin stuff for one second) How can you play quarterback your entire life and still not be able to throw? Also I may actually be in love with Tebow.... 2. Jon Hamm Despite what I said about him earlier Jon Hamm is obviously on my short list. I mean have you seen him? He can pull off any look. He's a great actor. He's got it all. He's who every man should want to be. Idc who you are if you can't appreciate his beauty you're either blind or blind. (yes I did that on purpose) Even the "God Hates Fags" ass holes want a night with Don Draper. 1. Tom Brady I mean has there ever been a more obvious #1 in the history of countdowns or numbers?
I love Tom Brady. If I were to rank all the people I know and how much I love them Tom Brady has a spot in the top 5 for life. Tom Brady is not only the greatest quarterback of all time but he also is incredibly handsome. He's everything. Great father, great athlete, great picky eater (tom-brady-and-i-basically-have-the-same-diet.html), great American. Doesn't matter who you are: man, women, gay or straight you can admit that Tom Brady is a masterpiece. You can hate him on the field all you want but it doesn't take away from the fact that he's a work of art. After all the happiness he's brought me in my life the very least I could do is reciprocate physically. I'm not a monster. Apple is Shoving the Fact that they Rule the World Down Our Throats with this $300 Picture Book11/15/2016 Apple today announced the release of a new hardbound book chronicling 20 years of Apple’s design, expressed through 450 photographs of past and current Apple products. “Designed by Apple in California,” which covers products from 1998’s iMac to 2015’s Apple Pencil, also documents the materials and techniques used by Apple’s design team over two decades of innovation. The book is dedicated to the memory of Steve Jobs. www.apple.com/newsroom/2016/11/designed-by-apple-in-california-chronicles-20-years-of-apple-design.html Apple is a weird company, it has cult like following and has basically taken over the world. Almost everybody I know under 50 years old has an iPhone. People (and myself) will get pissed off texting non-iPhone users because their texts are green and you can't see the little text bubbles pop up. Although TBH I kind of hate those because they just are another thing that causes me to get in my own head when talking to people but that's for another day... I mean I think I'd have to call myself an Apple guy by default. I'm writing this post right now on my macbook while constantly checking my iPhone with my iPad charging about a foot away from me. But just because I have a few Apple products doesn't mean I'm in love with this company. All their products are insanely over-priced status symbols that are made to break and be obsolete in a year. Apple doesn't give a fuck about anything. Pass me the Aux-cord? Nah bro we're murdering the Aux-cord and there's nothing you can do about it. I mean look at the iPhone 7, Apple is charging like $160 for some shitty wireless headphones that were basically designed to be lost. If they ever do get released because production on the $160 q-tip heads has been delayed. I can't wait to see people walking around with one headphone, not because they're trying to look cool but because they lost one because you know that's going to happen. If anybody has the same pair for over a year they deserve an award. I mean they're charging 1300 bucks for a macbook with 8 GB of memory. I'm not tech guy but I cannot wrap my head around that for a second. Don't new iPhones have like 128 GB? I really thought Apple mastered the greed game when they started selling charging wires and the cube separately but Apple has really outdone themselves with a $300 book full of pictures of their products over the years. With this "book" Apple is essentially following the same model as renowned author Kim Kardashian and her masterpiece "Selfish" Yes for the small price of $299 you can be the proud owner on a book of nothing but pictures of Apple products. Absolutely riveting. Such a brave company. Bravo! I want to know what goes down at Apple meetings. Is it just a bunch of cool silicon valley higher ups in jeans and Birkenstocks sitting at a gigantic coffee table wondering what ridiculously over priced gadget they can sell to the sheep next?
While I want to get mad at Apple for this absolutely ridiculously narcissistic book, I can't for two reasons. 1. They can sell whatever they want for basically any price and people will buy it. We live in a capitalistic society and nobody knows that more than Apple. They sell Apple pencils for God's sake. They know exactly what they're doing. When I was a freshmen at URI I wanted a macbook just because everybody else had one. That's the biggest reason Apple is so big, it's not their technology, because there are better cheaper alternatives. They're so big because they are cool. Remember the Mac and PC commercials with Justin Long? People want to be cool and liked. That's a big part of a thing they call the human condition boys and girls. Little psychology lesson from DOL. You're welcome. Just know you don't have to do that and you don't have to buy a fucking $300 book of pictures of iPhones. 2. As much as I don't want to admit it, the book actually is kind of cool. Now I'd never in a million years spend $300 on a book of printed out pictures from google images but as a history guy it is sort of cool to see the progression over the years. Again if you buy this book you're basically just saying look at me, I spent $300 on a coaster for my coffee table. That being said this is probably the biggest fuck you move by Apple yet. You know they could sell this for 50 bucks but because it's Apple and because they're so innovative it's 3 C-notes. If wait in line to buy this book you are the biggest loser of all time but then again who am I to say that? P.S. Apple could've charged over $500 and people would still buy this.... Idiots. Song: Over Artist: Kings of Leon Album: WALLS Best song on the album hands down. Need to get to their show at the garden like I need air. Mush: To mush means to create bad luck for others in gambling situations. The mush is also considered to be a sort of invisible force that brings bad beats and generally unlucky outcomes in gambling games – a jinx or a hex, if you will. This term may also be used when referring to a particularly ill-starred person. This blog is going to feature a lot of math. So if you've enjoyed reading my typos and grammatical errors over the last few months then you're in for a special treat of getting to watch me do math. Here we go! Since 2012 the New England Patriots are 31-5 (31-6 I messed up) at home in the regular season and 5-1 at home during the playoffs which combined is a record 36-6 a .857 winning percentage, let's just call it 86%. You can check my math. Pretty good huh? (When I "proofread" this blog I realized the Pats have lost 7 times since 2012 but that really only changes my math a tiny bit ) Over 42 home games over the last 4 plus season the Patriots have only lost 7 times. Incredible. If you exclude their week 4 loss to the Bills where Brady didn't play then it's really 6 losses in 5 years. They've consistently been the best team in the NFL for over the last 15 years. If you go to a Patriots home game it is incredibility likely they're going to win. I am a die-hard Patriots fan. Judge me all you want but I love this team more than a lot of my extended family members. They are responsible for some of the greatest moments and memories I've had in my life and have brought me closer to many people throughout my years as well. Sports can unite people and they have for me. I love going to Pats games, it's something I don't get to do a ton since tickets so hard to get it. It's not like going to Fenway where you have 81 chances to make it there. With football there's 8. I've been to 6 games since 2012 and they've lost HALF of them including 3 of the last 4 times I've gone. Patriots are 36-7 at home overall but drop to 3-3 when Ole Dozo is in the house. In only 6 trips to the Razor I've witnessed (just under) half of their home losses in 13.95% of the potential opportunities. Statistically almost impossible. There's only about a 14% chance the Patriots will lose when they play a home game over since 2012. Very low odds. Yet I've witnesses (almost) half of them in only 6 trips to Foxboro since 2012. Think about it like this. You have a bag with 43 things in it. In this case wins and losses. W=win L=loss. The Patriots have won 36 times and lost 7 in 4 plus seasons. So there's 36 W and 7 L in a bag. 43 things to grab, you grab 6 letters to represent the 6 times I've been at Gillette. Statistically you are 6 times more likely to grab a W yet in 6 grabs you get HALF of the L's in the bag. That's basically what I've done. Somethings in life just cannot be explained. That's basically religions' biggest argument against science. Now I'm not a jinx or a bad luck guy at all. I don't really buy into that but after last night and the way the Patriots lost not only that game but the others as well I might have to change my tune. I mean the odds of me seeing to quote Lebron James not 1, not 2 but 3 losses in 6 games when this team has only lost 6 games is staggering. Let's take a deeper look into the losses I've witnesses: 2012 AFC Championship Game: January 20th, 2013 (Patriots: 7.5 point favorite) Baltimore Ravens beat New England Patriots 28-13. The Patriots led at halftime 13-7. Going into this game Tom Brady lead Patriot teams were 67-0 when leading at half time at home. 67 and fucking 0. Not only were the Patriots 67-0 when leading at half but the franchise was also 5-0 at home in the AFC Championship game. Well I guess there is a first time for everything and (un)luckily for me I was there to witness it. Aqib Talib gets hurt. The Patriots cannot stop Joe Flacco and also cannot finish drives. Get outscored 21-0 in the second half. Lose 28-13. Season is over. Ravens go on to win the Super Bowl. Oh and Aaron Hernandez murders half of Massachusetts in the off season for good measure. 2014 Week 17: December 28th, 2014. (Patriots: 6.5 favorite) Buffalo Bills beat New England Patriots 17-9. Now this loss was not nearly as devastating as the other two but still statistically doesn't make sense and helps prove my hypothesis that I may be bad luck. Going into this game the Buffalo Bills had NEVER won in the history of Gillette Stadium. The Patriots were 12-0 at home against the Bills since 2002. While the Patriots already had locked up home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs and had nothing to play for they did play most starters for entire first half and didn't score a single touchdown. Much like how the Patriots had never lost a home AFC championship game and never blown a half time lead with Tom Brady the past stats did not matter. I was in the house the Patriots were going to find a way to lose. In the Patriots 2014 Super Bowl Championship season they went 9-1 at home (including the playoffs) and you guessed it, I was in the house for their one loss. 2016 Week 10: November 13th, 2016. (Patriots: 7.5 point favorite) Seattle Seahawks beat Patriots 31-24. That brings us to last night. Super Bowl XLIX rematch. My least favorite team in all of sports the Seattle Seahawks and all their loser 12 man fans are in town. The Seahawks offense going into the game was struggling. I think they're like 20th in the NFL in scoring yet they put up 31 points against the Pats in primetime. Not only that but the Patriots defense looks horrible all night. They only forced to Seahawks to punt twice. Going into the game Tom Brady had thrown 12 touchdowns and 0 interceptions since returning from suspension, then last night he throws no touchdowns and his first INT of the year. A absolutely horrible throw btw. Yet despite all of this, the Patriots still had a chance to tie the game in the final minutes. The Pats had 1st and goal inside the 2 yard line and could not score. Horrible look. Horrible feeling. I was sick to my stomach. I wanted to fight a Seahawks fan more than I've ever wanted anything in my entire life. Luckily I kept my composure and instead just talked a ton of shit on the way out. They were chanting Sea-Hawks on the walk out and I just kept chanting MALCOLM BUTLER. I really showed them. (Yeah I'm a huge loser and as I type this sentence realize that I'm definitely going to die alone) In all three games the Patriots were favored by over a touchdown and still found a way to lose. Not only did they lose but they lost in ways very uncharacteristic of them. Crazy streaks ended just think about that. First blown home half time lead of the Tom Brady era, first home AFC championship loss, and the first home loss to the Bills at Gillette Stadium. Then last night 4 straight plays inside the 2 yard line and they cannot punch it in. If you wanna blame me you can because I'm starting to think something is up. I'm torn because I love going to Patriots games and want to go to more. But I mean look at the numbers, they are a much better team when I'm watching anywhere that isn't Gillette Stadium. Only one way to really prove or disprove my theory and that is to take me Patriot games. So anybody who wants to either prove or disprove my theory then please feel free to bring me with you to Gillette. If they lose I may never go back again, as much as that hurts me. I'm just that kind of guy, I'm not gonna ruin it for everybody else. I started watching SNL very early in life, like almost way too early. I think my mom let me start watching it when I was like 8 years old. I can remember watching names like Will Ferrell, Tracy Morgan, Maya Rudolph, Chris Kattan, Jimmy Fallon, and Ana Gasteyer at a very early age. Early 2000's SNL was my favorite, I was wicked young laughing at jokes that I realistically probably didn't get but it didn't matter I was hooked. Same with the movies I watched really early too that featured SNL alums...like Tommy Boy for example. The scene where Richard (David Spade) is about to start jerking off to the girl by the pool and Tommy (Chris Farley, RIP) walks in and makes a million jokes about jerking off. Not only did I see this when I was like 7 but I also would quote it without realizing what the hell I was laughing about. Just laughing at sexual innuendos that I thought were funny just because it references Little Rascals. Insane, probably explains a lot now that I think about it but I'm getting off topic.. I absolutely loved Saturday Night Live. As I grew older I kept watching. When I was in middle and then high school up until like half way through college it was names like Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Will Forte, Kenan Thompson, Darryl Hammond and Fred Armisen. I loved that core 2005-13 core. Then slowly, but surely people left and with the exception of Kenan now they're all gone. SNL has been trash for like 3 years and I haven't really watched. They're in a transition I'm sure it will be good again someday (and to be fair it might not be as bad as I'm saying I don't really watch) I just haven't been impressed in the few bits and pieces I've seen over the last few years. But this last week for the first time in years I can remember being excited for an episode SNL. I was actually talking about SNL with anticipation. Dave Chappelle was hosting with a Tribe Called Quest performing. What a combo. Not only was Dave Chappelle hosting but he was just hosting days after one of the biggest political upsets in American history. The potential material seemed endless. To have the mastermind behind one of the funniest shows of all time (Chappelle's Show) at time like this seemed almost too good to be true. While I was a little underwhelmed with the show as a whole, Dave's opening stand-up act was fantastic and just makes me wish Chappelle's Show could make a comeback. I think if Dave said he was in it'd be back on tv next week. With all the hot button issues in our country and times tenser than ever it was great to hear Dave's take on many recent big news stories in addition to the week the was. That set was hilarious but what made it even better was how it real for a second at the end. We all know Donald Trump won the election. We also know a lotttttt of people are angry. But Dave summed it up pretty well that he wishes Donald well and is giving Trump a chance but only asks that he give's we [fellow black people] the "the historically disenfranchised" a chance too. I think that point is perfect and is how all people should all be reacting. Regardless if you hate or love Donald Trump, he's going to be our next President and instead of throwing a temper tantrum let's deal with it and all do our best to improve our nation. I thought it was cool how Chris Rock was featured in the Election Night skit but even with him and Dave I wasn't very impressed. Felt way too forced and just didn't make me really laugh other than Dave and Chris. The best skit of the night in my eyes was easily the Walking Dead Chappelle's Show. I'm sure Dave didn't want to have the entire episode be Chappelle's Show based but they needed to at least do something. The mash-up between the Walking Dead and Chappelle's Show was fantastic. Just enough of the really memorable characters from the show, not too much where it killed any of the jokes, but definitely left you wanting more. If you haven't seen it yet here it is. Other than those two parts I was pretty unimpressed. Weekend Update is usually good and don't lump that in with the rest of how bad SNL has been for 3 plus years. It wasn't all bad however A Tribe Called Quest absolutely killed it. I don't know if Dave Chappelle has something more in the works or if this was just a random appearance back in the limelight, all I know is I need more Dave back in my life. It's such a basic take that most people my age have but it's true, it's an absolute shame we haven't had more Chappelle in our lives the last decade or so because IMO one of the funniest people of all time. Nope instead we the people get a new Madea movie every 6 weeks. Sweet. Song: Fire Escape Artist: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness Album: Zombies on Broadway Here's a little background knowledge straight off the History Channel incase you didn't know the basics about day. Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day–a common misunderstanding, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Memorial Day (the fourth Monday in May) honors American service members who died in service to their country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle, while Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans–living or dead–but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime. Doz on Life is an extremely pro troops production. Regardless if you disagree with why they're fighting you gotta support the troops. I think the fact our country treats our Veterans so poorly is an absolute shame. Way too many homeless Vets who aren't getting the help they need. I personally think if you fight in a war and make it back home then the government should be obligated to help you out. These are the people who really deserve it. So many Vets out there with not just physical injuries but mental ones as well that in a way are almost worse. Losing a limb fucking sucks don't get me wrong but at least you can be at peace mentality. PTSD is no joke. Our armed forces have the most important job without a doubt. It requires insane sacrifice and dedication that not a lot of people want to do. I would never do it. I'm too much of a pussy and also love my hair too much. It takes a different kind of man or woman to sign up to protect our great nation. I have friends who have served and if you're reading this you know who you are and I just want to say thank you for your sacrifice. From all of us at DOL (me) I just want to thank you all, past and present for all you do for this great nation of ours.
P.S. You deserve a whole lot more than a free bloomin-onion at Outback. Song: M.I.A. Artist: Avenged Sevenfold Album: City of Evil (2005) Hey guys, so incase you've been underground or in a coma Donald Trump upset Hillary Clinton in the Presidential Election Tuesday night. I fell asleep semi-early and missed a majority of the coverage, but when I woke up Wednesday and saw the news I was literally as shocked as I've ever been in my entire. Like nothing that has happened in my 24 years of existence surprised me as much and let me remind you I saw the 2007 Patriots go 18-0 then lose the Super Bowl. It's true what Kevin Garnett said, anything is possible. Until Tuesday to me that is still the biggest upset of my lifetime. I'm not a Hillary guy, but I thought she was going to win in a blowout and had pretty much accepted it as fact that she was going to win. So now that Trump is the President-elect lots of people are not too pleased. This country is divided more than ever. I feels like we're in the 1960's and it's an absolute shame. Nobody knows how to react like an adult. Lots of people think many negative social changes are coming. I still do not think is true (or at least hope is not true) I still think that at the end of the day overtime if we as a nation just start acting like better humans change will eventually come. All these old people with their prehistoric ways aren't going to live forever. People aren't born with hate, it's taught to them. So what I'm going to do here is give you a little lesson on how to be a decent human being in our society. Basically how any intelligent human should feel about the hot button issues that people don't like talking about. Your parents should've done this years ago. LGBT Rights: If you actually care about two dudes or two chicks being together in 2016 you're such a fucking loser it makes my head spin. This shouldn't be a liberal or conservative issue, it's a human issue. I truly believe that people are born gay and it's not a choice. Why would someone chose to go through all the hate? You can't help who you're attracted to it's really not that hard to comprehend. Everybody has "their type". People who genuinely want to make life worse for these people blow my mind. Worry about yourself. I know there's the whole religious argument but guess what? I believe in God (and low-key consider myself a Christian) and do not give half of a fuck about this and nobody else should either. When I say that I don't care I don't mean I don't care about the LGBT community, I mean idgaf what people do as long as it isn't hurting others and neither should you. If there is a God and he actually disagrees with this then people can deal with it when the time comes but for now just chill out with the hate. Like.... I hate Yankees fans, but that doesn't mean I think they shouldn't have the rights to exist and be happy (unless it's baseball related), shit one of my best friends is a Yankees fan and I love him like a brother. I know that's a way less serious issue but I'm just saying it's really not that hard to be an adult and put your differences aside. People are different that's what makes life cool. It would suck if every single person was the same, that's boring AF. If you disagree with it, whatever I'm never going to change your mind but it literally does not effect you. If two men or two women are in love and happy and want to spend the rest of their lives together who the fuck are you to say no? As for the transgendered community, if someone wants to be who they really are then let them. Do I think the like 3958 different gender options on like a form to sign up for an email account are a little ridiculous? Yes. But at the same time it doesn't really impact my life and if someone wants to identify differently then go for it. Again if it doesn't impact me or others in a negative way then idgaf. Women's Rights Look I don't love the idea of abortions either, I don't think women should just be getting them every 3 weeks like to use as birth control. But guess what that's not my call to make. It's not our body to make that call. Again pretty simple logic but there's a lot of stupid people in this country. As for birth control like pill wise I'm pretty much for whatever a chick wants to do. I may make jokes on twitter or in blogs but I joke about everybody equally I'm very cool with equality for women it just makes sense. When it comes to equal pay I feel like it is pretty insane that in 2016 if men and women are working the same job in a lot of cases men make more. That should probably change and like today. Race Relations: Now this is where it gets very difficult for me to preach. I'm a white dude in fucking Rhode Island. I have no right to tell people how they should act, I really haven't had any issues in my life that are race related unless you wanna count never winning a race in my life (I'm fat get it?) That being said don't hate people based on what they look like. Judge them on who they are as a person. If someone is a shitty person who happens to be black dislike them because they're shitty not because they're black. Look at that last sentence as an algebra equation and switch in any group for black that you want and the point remains the same. White, Asian, Latino, African it doesn't matter. Like do people not remember what MLK said? "Judge people on the context of their character" That statement should be on billboards. Look I'm no idiot, I understand why prejudices and stereotypes exist for any demographic and if you think that's racist to say why don't you go leave your car unlocked in an inner city and see what happens. We all see stereotypes acted out in real life everyday. Some are funny and I don't care what anybody says, while some are extremely hurtful. Life is all about balance. At the same time there's centuries of unjust treatment to African Americans in this country. That's about as clear as day as it gets. If you disagree you're a fool. Lots of disadvantages along the way. Some may be angry at white America and to a certain extent I can hear them out. However I believe at the same time all races and groups need to stop blaming others for their problems. We all need to hold ourselves accountable. Cops should not be killing innocent people of any race but those people at the same time shouldn't be giving them any reason to do something so drastic. We all need to be better and do more. It's almost 2017 and we are divided as ever. This is not how things should be. Relations with Other Religions: Yo real talk there's like a 50% chance (at least) there is no God and we're all wrong. I'm a JC guy through and through and while I do believe the stories of Christianity I also think there's a VERY good chance it's all fabricated or at the very least extremely diluted. Just think of a story in the past you've told a friend and then they tell it to someone else and minor details change and then by the time it's passed on to like a 6th different person it's a completely different story. Yeah, think about that with religion over 2000 + years. So whether you're Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Agnostic or an Atheist whatever/however people w anna worship let them and stay the fuck out. Don't kill people because they don't believe in the same (probably fake) God as you. Maybe I'm completely off base but that's basically how I feel on all relations. I'm pretty down the middle, I don't consider myself liberal or conservation, I see all issues differently then make my decision. In the past I've considered myself to lean more left but things change over time. If you are offended by what I said I'm sorry but I am sticking to it. It's my right to say it and think this way and it's yours to disagree. I'm not perfect but I think that is a pretty decent moral compass to live by. Judge people for who they are not what they look like, believe or have sex with. If more people were straight up and said what I just said put stuff out in the open I think things would be a lot different. So whether you're devastated or ecstatic that Trump is President if you just treat people better and are more open to different things I think then we can truly make America great. |
