This week's sports #tbt of the week is the 2014-15 AFC Championship Game. With Brady's suspension reinstated (most bullshit thing in the history of sports, won't even get into it) I just wanna show the game that the whole deflategate saga is based on. A 45-7 ass kicking of the Indianapolis Colts. Patriots could have beaten the Colts with a basketball that night, didn't matter what the PSI was there was no way the Colts were beating the Pats at Gillette. Deflategate is so stupid I don't even wanna talk about it but the fact that the Patriots lost 2 draft picks, including a first round pick in tonight's NFL draft, a million dollars and 4 games of Tom Brady for something that can't even be proved is a joke. Goodell is scum, I hope everything bad that can happen in life happens to him. Even if Brady did do it which I don't believe it should have been a $50,000 equipment violation fine because that tiny bit of air pressure gave the Patriots no advantage at all. The COLTS STINK and if they played the Patriots in Gillette 100 times they'd lose 100 times. It's all bullshit but here's the sports #tbt of the week. Goodell can't take this away! Cannot wait for #5 in February!!!

Song of the Day for April 28th is a song Blink 182 fans have been waiting for for years! "Bored to Death" is the bands first song since Tom DeLonge left the band. Sucks that it's not the same lineup and without him it is basically just a new +44 song but "Bored to Death" has that same signature blink sound. I already love it. I guess it is still Blink 182 even without Tom, he's since been replaced with Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. I loved Blink 182 they're one of the first bands I can remember liking even at a young age. I grew up with Blink 182 when I was kid, everybody in elementary and middle school loved Blink 182 no matter what type of music you were into. I can remember being in 4th grade and some kid brought in Take off Your Pants and Jacket for show and tell. The double entendre of the name totally went over my head as a 10 year old but it was still a great album. I'm just excited they're making new music even if it will never be the same again. Here is the song of the day for April 28th "Bored to Death" by Blink 182 off their new album "California" Song of the Day for April 27th is "Tighten Up" by The Black Keys it comes off their 2010 masterpiece "Brothers". The Black Keys are hands down my favorite band of all time and this song is what got me hooked. Awesome music video to boot. I've seen rumors online that they may done, if that's the case it will be one of the saddest days of my life, hopefully it is just a rumor. Anyways here is the Song of the Day for April 27th: "Tighten Up" by The Black Keys.
4-0. Pretty Ricky Porcello is 4-0. What's even more impressive is his 3.51 era. That and WHIP are way more important when showing how a pitcher is doing than W/L record. I know it was against the awful Atlanta Braves who were 4-14 last night but Rick Porcello gave the Sox 6 and a third innings of shut out baseball. No matter how bad a team is you still have to execute and that's what he did. For a team with such a bad record the Braves actually are a decent team offensively (statically, not name wise, their roster is a joke) they just have awful pitching so despite their record I think it was an impressive start. Plus he got on base twice as well.
Nobody expects Rick Porcello to an ace and he hasn't been pitching like one, but he has been very solid and is finally living up to his contract. I know it's early still, it's not even May but idc I love the sox and I wanna get excited about this team. I was really hard on him last season, and deservingly so, he sucked. This year however things have changed, and he's been very good so I give him credit for doing something right. With no Papi or Hanley last night the bats were quiet and could only get 1 run for Porcello, but it ended up being more than enough. Jackie Bradley, Jr of all guys drove it in with a solo HR in the 7th Price and Kimbrel have struggled. We all know that, but I think they'll be fine, they have the track record to back themselves up. If Porcello can keep pitching somewhere around how he has been, with the added support of E-rod and Carson Smith coming off the DL soon, this team can be very good. They have the offense to win 90+ games and now the pitching is starting to line up and heat up. Carson Smith will be huge so now idiot John Farrell won't pitch 41 year old Koji every night. Sure I'm biased as hell but I'm excited about this season. Now David Price needs to be David Price tonight against the shitty Braves. Let's see if the Sox can get to 2 whole games over .500 tonight!!! P.S. I still want John Farrell the fuck off this team. Double P.S. NASTY pitch by Robbie Ross, Jr to end the 7th. S/O the GOAT Red Sox writer Jared Carrabis for getting the vine.
Song of the Day April 26th is "Spirits" by The Strumbellas. Comes off their album "Hope". This track has been getting a lot of airplay on alternative radio and deservingly so, I like anybody that can take away from twenty one pilots who have had wayyyy to much airplay for two okay at best songs. So sick of them. After listening to the music video version just realized the radio version is way different. It says dreams and hearts instead of guns on WBRU. Talk about a totally different meaning. Still like the song. Here is the DOL song of the day.
WHAT THE HELL?? I'm just here at home, excited about the Celtics, writing about mini golf and then I get the notification on my life that Tom Brady's deflategate suspension has been reinstated by the US Appeals Court.
I'm really fucking mad right now. I don't even wanna get into the whole legal side, because this has really turned more into Roger Goodall vs. the Players Association but I'm livid, absolutely livid. I had honestly forgotten about deflategate, after it hijacked 8 months of the news cycle in 2015 I figured it was finally over. I had moved on. Most people had moved on. I was just thinking today how it's still bullshit the Patriots lost draft picks and then this happens. Honestly how can you not think this is a witch hunt against the Patriots. I've been saying since day 1 that this is the most overblown story in the history of sports. I don't believe Tom Brady asked to have a little air pressure taken out of the balls. Even if he did it should've resulted in a fine at most. It isn't steroids. This isn't a big fucking deal. Its like they MAY have gone 5 mph the speed limit, you can't even prove it. Ideal Gas Law look it up. But are getting 15 years in prison for it. This is madness. Idc if you love or hate the Patriots, if you are a fan of justice and America you should be siding with the Tom Brady. I honestly want to kill someone I'm so mad, I hate Roger Goodell, he's a corrupt fucking puppet who deserves to die or at the very least lose his job. Not just for this but for all the corruption he's had in his tenure as commissioner. Seeing his face makes my blood boil. I want to kick his fucking bird faced ass and I know I could, he's a huge pussy. He hates football, he wants to make it two hand touch. He's scum. The Patriots are the best franchise in the NFL and have been for 15 fucking years, because of that and they way they do business/conduct themselves they have piled up a long list of haters and detractors. People think this is Patriot fans being paranoid but it is true. People hate the Patriots and are looking for a way to bring them down. They've taken draft picks from the Pats. If Teddy Bridgewater or Kirk Cousins was accused of this I'm not even sure it makes local news. Nobody cares, because the whole idea of deflategate at it's core having an impact on games is ridiculous. People forget the Patriots beat the Colts 45-7 in that game. They could have been playing with a rock or a balloon and the Patriots were still going to kill the Colts. The Colts were awful, they stunk, they were never in a million years going to beat the Patriots. But because it's Tom Brady, apparently what he did was worse than genocide in the eyes of the media and the sheep who eat it all up without actually knowing the facts. ESPN has been out to get the Patriots since day 1 and it's just like Gone Girl where the media is fucking hysterical and sensatinal and the general public who is full of fucking idiots eat it up and then you have the mob mentality where Tom Brady is a monster. This is complete and utter bullshit. I'm sure Brady and his guys will appeal and this may go to the Supreme Court. But I'm pretty sure that takes years so for the short term idk what it really means. All I know is that Roger Goodell, the NFL, and ESPN all hate The Patriots, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. They've been out to get them for years and it was never a fair fight. We live in a corrupt f-ing country and people who can't see that are blind. It's a sad day for New England Patriot Fans, and an even sadder day for America. Hopefully Brady some how beats this and justice is served. Even if they go 0-4 without him (which won't happen) this team is still the best team in the AFC and can make it back to the Super Bowl. I cannot wait for when Brady ultimately does play because he may throw for 10 touchdowns. Fuck Roger Goodell. So Friday I only did one blog but I had a good excuse, it was wicked nice out and I went mini golfing with 5 friends of mine. I gotta preface this blog by saying I'm a huge mini golf guy. Absolutely love it. As a big goofy white dude I'll be the first to admit I'm not a great athlete. But with mini golf I'm a star. Is it a sport? Probably not and if I wasn't good at it I'd definitely say it isn't, but am so congratulations mini golf in my eyes you're a sport.
Anyways Friday I'm mini golfing and did not have a great performance I'll be the first to admit that but I was a little shook. We were playing like real golf were you go one at time and shoot from whoever is further away. I'm not about that life at all. The way I go is if theres four people, person 1 goes until they're done, then person 2 and so on and so forth. Apparently that is wrong but I've always gone that way and think it is WAY better. I don't like the idea of my ball being potentially knocked farther away by someone else, that's not right. Someone who is out of it and just wants to sabotage me can. That's not right, I've been a guy with a target on his back all my life so I'm very susceptible to that kind of a attack. I will not allow it. This is why I came in last place on Friday. Total and utter bullshit. It shook me and I'll be the first to admit that, but that is not how gentlemen play this game. All I can do is bounce back and be better, lucky for me it is barely spring and there are many more days to play mini golf (the correct way) and prove my dominence. So how do you play/what is the right way? It's April 25th...the perfect date. For the perfect date, today's song of the day is going to have to be the perfect song. I've boasted and bragged that I have superior taste in music for years, usually to no avail. Now is time to put up or shut up. I think I just put a little too much pressure on myself for finding a song to put on a blog that maybe 50 will read. Fuck that, what am I doing? This is MY blog and this is MY song of the day. It's just another day. Song of the Day for April 25th is "Big Ideas" by The Boxer Rebellion off of the album Ocean by Ocean. Found this on apple music. Dug the sound, and now it's song of the day. It's really that easy. 5th and final day of ladies week at DOL. Hope you enjoyed the music as much as I have. Finishing off the week with Haim. Haim is a band made up a three sisters and then a studio guy. Really got into them my first senior year of college. I listened to their debut album "Days Are Gone" a ton that year. Should be releasing a follow up to that soon. Here is the song of the day for April 22nd "If I Could Change Your Mind" Friday Bonus! The Wire. Probably my favorite song by them. |
