2016:
A lot of people hate 2016 because of Harambe and Trump, but it was one of my favorite years of all time. DOL WAS BORN!!!! I lost weight and had a cool like 14 month stretch, Papi's final season was incredible (despite its ending), Pats won the Super Bowl (again). I had a lot of good times with a lot of good people, here is some of the music from those times.
Again, the years are a loose guideline. Remember if there's a song omitted from the list, don't fret it could very well be in my top 30 (I think at this point it's officially 40) of the decade! — Doz (very niche!) #hiredozo (@DozonLife) December 31, 2019
"No Heart", "Ocean Drive" 21 Savage + Metro Boomin
I fuck w/ 21 HEAVY. There may or may not be footage of me singing Ocean Drive (uncensored) at a party I was not invited to.
"Talk Too Much" Coin
At the time hands down my favorite song of 2016. Still love it to this day.
"No Hard Feelings" Avett Brothers
When I first started thinking how I was going to lay this blog out one of the potential ways was to just have all the songs regardless of year in one blog. From there they would be divided into sections. "College", "songs I felt like I had to include that didn't hold up", etc. "Cry songs" was another section I was dead set on and this would be the lead off track. Fun game idea....try and guess the other ones that would be in that section!
"She's Out of Her Mind" Blink-182
I have been v vocal in my distane for new Blink w/o Tom. It just isn't right. I don't really like a lot of their new stuff but that is not the case here whatsoever. Unreal video, awesome song. Best Blink has done since 2003.
"Pink + White" Frank Ocean
Frank is that dude.
"Favorite Liar" The Wrecks
All-time sing-a-long whatever genre you wanna place this in song.
Starboy (ft. Daft Punk) The Weeknd
I'm OTR that The Weeknd is the next Michael Jackson. Hopefully without the minor salad tossing. This song BANGS
"Jungle" Tash Sultana
Pound for pound the most talented person in music. Busker!
"Million Reasons" Lady Gaga
Cry!
Cheap Thrills (ft. Sean Paul) Sia
Sia is weird AF so i fuck w/ her.
"Over", "Find Me", "Eyes On You" Kings of Leon
I had this CD. Big CD guy when I had my Jeep and saw both Massachusetts legs of the tour. Love KOL.
"Life Itself", "Pork Soda" Glass Animals
Liking Glass Animals helped my 2nd ONS happen so they'll always have a special place in my heart. I'd drink Pork Soda.
Baby Blue (ft. Chance) Action Bronson
I was Action Bronson for Halloween in 2016.
"All the Pretty Girls" KALEO
Just a beautiful song. Bon Iver vibes.
"Sleep on the Floor" The Lumineers
I would love to live out this music video minus the shotgun wedding.
"Come Down" Anderson .Paak
s/o first take?
"Human" Rag'n'Bone Man
This guy could've fallen off the face of the earth for all I know. Great song though.
No Problem (ft. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz) Chance the Rapper
INDIE!!!!!
Hard to not respect and love this man.
"Lighterless" Microwave
One of those songs I randomly found on an apple music playlists.
"Still Breathing" Green Day
IMO Green Day's best post-American Idiot work.
"Cake by the Ocean" DNCE
Bassist has all time stupid hair but then again I've never forgotten him so maybe it's all time smart hair?
"Love Me", "Ugh", "She's American"(...everything) The 1975
One of my favorite albums and bands of the decade. More to come soon.
"White Iverson", "I Fall Apart" Post Malone
I love Posty and just hope he can start brushing his teeth and get some of those horrible tats removed.
"New Song" Warpaint
peak BRU. I'm a sucker for girl bands.

2015:
The year I did graduate college and the Patriots officially won the Super Bowl. As you get older years really start to morph into like a big 500+ day blob; that's how I feel with 2014-2015. Outside of what happened in sports that I can look up and verify, I get v hazey with things that happened each year...especially in the summer. 2015 is another year with some of my all time favos, sooo........
Again, the years are a loose guideline. Remember if there's a song omitted from the list, don't fret it could very well be in my top 30 (I think at this point it's officially 40) of the decade! — Doz (very niche!) #hiredozo (@DozonLife) December 31, 2019
"Yes, I'm Changing", "The Less I Know The Better" Tame Impala
This part is so tough because I could easily include all of Currents for both this and top 30/40. Currents is hands down my favorite album of the decade and cannot thank zlab enough for introducing me to Tame. I know now there's this whole stereotype/cliche around them and their music but IDGAF, I think Kevin Parker is a genius. They are atop my most need to see list with PJ. I could go on and on but there's a lot more music that needs it's Moment.
"Sugar" Maroon 5
Don't get me wrong, I fuck with Maroon 5, but sometimes their music is hot garbage.
Sugar, on the other hand "slaps" and is a perfect pop-rock song.
"Howling At Nothing", "Need Not Ever Get Old", "SOB" Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
I saw them open for KOL in 2017. Unreal show, so lucky to see them. In 2015 Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats blew up with SOB, but the entire album is fantastic blues/rock/soul/love music. Cannot recommend enough. I wish I could rock hats like these gentlemen, but between my size 8 cabeza and gorgeous hair it's hard.
"The Ghost of Beverly Drive" Death Cab For Cutie
"I don't know why, I don't know why"
"Hotline Bling" Drake
I loved this song so much I got a fucking t-shirt of Drake doing the dance.
"Stay in My Corner" The Arcs
Dan Auerbach's side project had some serious keys influence but was different. Really great album. RIP Richard Swift.
Am I Wrong? (ft. ScHoolboy Q) Anderson .Paak
Funktastic.
FTR I cannot dance, or "oooooooo" :/
The Universe Smiles Upon You (continuous loop) Khruangbin
Loophole city. On apple music I have the entire album. To save time I only linked one song, but if you play that on youtube it's from a playlist of the entire album. I discovered Khruangbin this year, wish it didn't take me so long. Although it was right when I needed them so in a way that was the universe's way of smiling upon ole dozie.
"Hello", "All I Ask" Adele
Just when the fire in her heart that was 21 finally seemed like it had gone out, Adele dropped 25 in late 2015 and told the music world she's still THE queen. Best selling physical album of the decade which shows a lot of her audience but idgaf who you are Adele is amazing. I bought the cd too
"Another One", "A Heart Like Hers" Mac Demarco
While there haven't been any official DOL blog references to Mac, he is littered on the list. Another artist I didn't truly find until this year (ironically I am not crazy about Here Comes the Cowboy)and boy oh boy did I make up for lost time. There may be no artist in music history that speaks to me more than McBriare Samuel Lanyon. Love the low fi. So much emotion. He's funny af. Muuuuuch more Mac to come.
"In My Eyes" Best Coast
Another west coast band too cool for me. Idk a lot of Best Coast but this song was in my daily rotation for a long ass time.
"Give Me a Try" The Wombats
When "Here Goes Dozo" finally drops sometime this year this will be the theme song.
"Cold Cold Cold", "Trouble" Cage The Elephant
Tell Me I'm Pretty is another album I totally blanked on on my IG post of best albums.
"Black Gold", "My Cousin Greg" Houndmouth
Another DB's classic album. Could list every song. Really wish Katie never left. I loved the way they all harmonized. Their latest album doesn't really do anything for me.
2014:
The year I was supposed to graduate college was a rocky one for Ole Dozo. Way too much booze and not enough productivity. Patriots ended their decade long Super Bowl drought (technically Feb '15). All things considered I enjoyed 2014. (minus the Red Sox)
Again, the years are a loose guideline. Remember if there's a song omitted from the list, don't fret it could very well be in my top 30 (maybe more) of the decade! — Doz (very niche!) #hiredozo (@DozonLife) December 31, 2019
"Take Me To Church", "Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene", "Jackie and Wilson" Hozier
When thinking of 2014 music it's impossible to go more than 2 seconds without thinking of Take Me to Church. While I love that song, the latter Hozier songs are even better. We listened to this album on repeat at DB's many a night.
"Waves" Sleeper Agent
Another BRU bop. :(
"Cold Cold Man" Saint Motel
That fucking piano, man.
"Happy Idiot" TV on the Radio
TV on the Radio is far too cool for me but I've probably listened to this song 300 times.
"Rollercoaster" Bleachers
Fuck Lena Dunhan though.
"Riptide" Vance Joy
Another song that was everywhere in 2014.
"Mind Over Matter" Young the Giant
Cough Syrup is great and all, but personally this is my favorite YTG song.
"I'm Not the Only One" Sam Smith
This song transcended genre. I feel like it was everywhere. Unreal pipes on this guy (am I gonna get in trouble for saying that?)
"Fancy (ft. Charli XCX)" Iggy Azalea
This song held up about as well as a scotch tape door in a hurricane but I fucked w/ it heavy at the time.
"Doses & Mimosas" Cherub
Ditto.
"First" Cold War Kids
The same cannot be said for this song. Still a goosebumps song for me.
"Ain't It Fun" Paramore
I fucking LOVE Paramore.
"Kansas City" New Basement Tapes
The New Basement Tapes was such an awesome project. Pretty cool how this song blew up around the same time of the Kansas City Royals two-year window.
"Shelter Song" Temples
Didn't know this song until this year, but it is in my top 100 most played songs on Apple Music of 2019 last time I checked. So 60's I fucking love it.
"Boom Clap" Charli XCX
s/o the fault in our stars :'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''(
"Lemme Freak" Lil Dicky
We all need a comedic palate cleanser after rewatching TFIOS in our brain briefly while scrolling.
"Wet Dreamz" J. Cole
Idk the % ...... let's call it 78% of people can relate to this song.
"Shake It Off" Taylor Swift
This song was EVERYWHEEEEEEEEERE (Michelle Branch)
"Shut Up and Dance" Walk the Moon
I kind of hate this song now from hearing it 9302302094 times, but it's worthy of a spot.
"Hazey", "Gooey" Glass Animals
Making this list has been so fucking hard. Do you know how tough it is to go though a decades worth of music across many genres (mostly the alt-rock umbrella)? You forget shit. While I was writing 2015 I used the word hazey and it joggled my reefer brain.
ICYMI:
2010 2011 2012
2013:
013 is in my top 3 years of the decade. Red Sox won the World Series, 2013 was my first 21 summer. Just lots of great memories and music. Again the years are a loose guideline. Remember if there's a song omitted from the list, don't fret it could very well be in my top 30 (maybe more) of the decade! (Lottttttttts of 2013 on that list so this blog may be shorter)
— Doz (very niche!) #hiredozo (@DozonLife) December 31, 2019
"Sex", "Heart Out" The 1975
My friend Sean (dad) and I would just randomly yell "SHE'S GOT A BOYFRIEND ANYWAY" in the worst British accents you've ever heard.
The 1975 played a free show in Providence during the BRU Summer Concert Series and I didn't go because of work. I think about missing that probably 3 times a month.
Nakamarra (featuring Q-Tip) Hiatus Kaiyote
Such a beautiful song, recommended by a beautiful friend.
"Get Lucky" Daft Punk and Pharrell
21 summer banger
I LOVE FUNK
"Blurred Lines" Robin Thicke, T.I, & Pharrell
#metoo my say this song is problematic. It very well could be. I do not care, it's catchy AF and was HUGE in my 21 summer. I'm not gonna retroactively pretend this song isn't good because it makes people uncomfortable. That being said I am EXTREMELY ANTI-RAPE!
I am worried I'm gonna recycle all my music cliches in this blog but with nearly 300 songs that might happen. Have I used infectious yet? Because that's what the little guitar riff in this song is. For the 600th time R.I.P. WBRU!!!!!!!!!
"Shot At the Night" The Killers
s/o the dude from the Social Network getting another gig.
"Dirty Paws", "King and Lionheart", "Little Talks" Of Monsters and Men
Another debatable year, they blew up in my world in 2013 so here they are. I've seen Of Monsters and Men twice, they fucking rock. I LOVE THIS ALBUM
"Hearts Like Ours" The Naked and Famous
Another one of those bands I haven't dove that deep into, but I know I'd fuck with them even more if I did.
"Sweater Weather", "Afraid" The Neighourhood
All I am, is a man
"Stolen Chance" Milky Chance
Just a solid ass groove.
"Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" Kendrick Lamar
Admittedly not much of a rap guy but this is an anthem.
"Royals" Lorde
Without National Graphic and George Brett this song never happens!
"Mirrors"Justin Timberlake
JT has to drop heat every once in a while just to let you know he still can.
"Temple", "Supersoaker" Kings of Leon
One of my all time favorite bands. Obviously they're in.
"Trying To Be Cool" Phoenix
Aren't we all?
"All Right" Zac Brown Band
This song should've been so much more popular than it was.
"Unbelievers' Vampire Weekend
Solid band that I do not appreciate nearly as much as I should.
"Pompeii", "Flaws" Bastille
Bastille is one of those bands that I listen to all the time but they don't even register on my list of favorite artists but big data would probably say otherwise. Dan Smith may have the best voice in rock right now. Holy pipes.
2012:
2012 was a seminal year of my life. Laid the foundation of some real internal struggles. Lots of great music though! Here it is. Again the years are a loose guideline. I'm a history buff (and major) I know the importance of accuracy, but in some cases it's debatable. Little Black Submarines is on an album that came out in 2011 but didn't blow up until 2012. The examples are endless and spoiler alert that's in the top 30. Remember if there's a song omitted from the list, don't fret it could very well be in my top 30 of the decade!
"Mind Mischief" Tame Impala
Like a lot of music in this curation; just because it's listed in a certain year doesn't mean that's when it came into my life.
I'll be the first to admit I didn't really get into Tame Impala until 2016. My friend Zach recommended Currents to me and I was fucking hooked from the first listen. Mind Mischief comes off of their 2012 album Lonerism. If I was ranking videos of the decade this is easily top 10.
"Ho Hey" The Lumineers
I was allll about the folk revival of 2012 and still am. Like Tame Impala, we'll hear more from these folks (LOL) l8r.
"Take a Walk", "Carried Away" Passion Pit
You could not escape either of these songs on BRU (RIP!)
"Locked Out of Heaven" Bruno Mars
This song was when I started taking Bruno Mars seriously as an artist. This song still holds up and tbh I prob should've put in my top 30. Must've played this song at work for a month straight in late 2012.
"Hold On" Alabama Shakes
I don't know too much about the Alabama Shakes other than their 2 biggest alt-radio songs (IMO). This chick Liv I was obsesssssssed with for like four years liked them so I pretended to. I genuinely like this song though.
"Babel", "I Will Wait", "Hopeless Wanderer"
I was in love with this album and fucking pumped when it won Album of the Year. A few weeks back I made a post on the new @dozonlife IG (follow that shit) of my top 10 favorite albums of the decade just to get some quick posts up and totally forgot this. I'll prob add top 20 albums of the decade with my top 30 (maybe 40) songs.
"Somebody That I Used To Know (featuring Kimbra)" Gotye
I took great pride in predicting that this song would be a one hit wonder. That being said I still enjoyed just as much as everybody else that summer. As someone going through a break up at the time that shit hit deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
(in that pussy, Dan Marino)
"Rack City" Tyga
God I'm a great writer.
TEN, TEN, TEN, TWENTIEZ ON YA TIDDIEZ BICCCCCCCCCCCCC
"Some Nights", "We Are Young", "Carry On" Fun.
Not only did fun. casually have three massive hits and then just bounce to do their own thing (although both Jack Antonoff and Nate Reuss both claim the band isn't broken up) but on the album the three songs mentioned were consecutive tracks. (2-3-4) Rumours type grouping.
"Bright Lights" Gary Clark, Jr.
I knew this song when it came out, but it wasn't until this year that I truly fell in love with GCJ. One of my favorite artists in all of music rn.
"From Nowhere" Dan Croll
Weird indie art rock will always have a place in my heart.
"Lego House", "The A Team" Ed Sheeran
I mean if you don't like Ed you can dip. I don't care if the year is off.
"Sweet Annie" Zac Brown Band
You Get What You Give is and always will be imo ZBB's best work. 2012's Jump Right In was rather disappointing for me. I remember listening to it for the first time at LUXE. First of back-to-back 2012 Ann songs.
"Anna Sun" Walk The Moon
When "Shut Up and Dance With Me" brought them to the mainstream I was shocked. I like this so much better. In Summer 2012 I had this "job" I found on craigslist where I was a canvasser for save the bay. Made like $35 and remember hearing this on my drive to Chipotle omw home. I was not asked back because I raised $0.
"Brokenhearted" Karmin
BOP!
This chick's bangs always pissed me off but whatever. All those different color combos are sooo visually pleasing. I fucking LOVE all those patterns and possibilities. â âOkay, so in reality, there's really only 128 possible seeding scenarios, but I feel like I could've said any number under 500 and it would've been believable. Even 128 seems insane this late in the year. There definitely have been years passed when most things were wrapped up by week 17. While the Ravens, Bills, and Vikings are currently locked in; there is a lot to still be determined. One playoff spot (AFC 6 seed) is still up for grabs. The Raiders are barely breathing, people! â
Four teams are still alive for home field throughout the playoffs in the NFC. The outcome of Sunday Night Football could end up being the difference of four seeds. There is a chance the 49ers are in a win=1 seed; loss=5 seed scenario.
While some week 17 outcomes seem like a formality; Pats over Dolphins, Saints over Panthers, Packers over Lions, Chiefs over Chargers just to name a few..... like Herm Edwards refuses to say again "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME". Anything can happen (Ellie Goulding, 2012)
With guys playing for their next contract, incentives, opportunity elsewhere, or just trying to stay healthy going into the off-season; week 17 can be a bigger crap shoot than most weeks. There are truly meaningless games like Browns-Bengals. Then all-time pregame hype match-ups for all the marbles like SNF between the 49ers and Seahawks.
I still haven't decided what I am going to take today and these predictions could totally not make sense or contradict what I have a financial interest in, but this is how I think the seeds end up playing out after it's all said and done tonight around 11:38 pm Eastern Standard Time. AFC: 1. Ravens 2. Patriots 3. Chiefs 4. Texans 5. Bills 6. Titans NFC: 1. Packers 2. Saints 3. Seahwks 4. Cowboys (I think the Gmen win today!) 5. 49ers 6. Vikings âOne thing I can guarantee is Freddie Kitchens won't have a job on Tuesday. s/o Rich Eisen's IG and Rich Eisen in general
2011:
Where do I begin on 2011?
After 2017 and 2012 probably the most turbulent year of the decade for me, personally. Highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Much like Tim Tebow's 2011. A lot of this could have been considered 2012 but is already in the 2011 playlist on my apple music and since this really just a curation of the entire decade it's not that big of a deal. Just know, I know. Please remember if there's a song you think I forgot, it could be in the top 30! — Doz (very niche!) #hiredozo (@DozonLife) December 23, 2019
"Run Right Back", "Lonely Boy", "Dead and Gone"
El Camino is my favorite album of the first half of the decade. Could easily be 1-11.
"Rumour Has It", "Someone Like You", "Rolling In the Deep" Adele
21 was the album of the year in the truest sense of the award. Didn't matter what you prefer you likely enjoyed this album. Hit, after hit, after hit. Probably the most famous break-up record of all time. Impossible to tell the story of 2011 music without it.
"Can't Get Enough", "Lights Please", "Lost Ones", "Work Out" J. Cole
Saw Cole live at Lupos in late 2011. Unreal show. That 2010-12 range I was obsessed with this man. Probably my favorite rap album of the decade. Countless great memories associated with these songs (I mean not so much with lost ones. it's just a great song).
"Midnight City" M83
electronic sex
"Till I'm Gone" Tinie Tempah (ft. Wiz)
Back in the frostwire days I had a Top 100 playlist from some random week in July. This was on it and I've listened to this song probably 200 times. Love it on the elip. (dozo for elliptical)
A.D.H.D. Kendrick Lamar
I've been saying "fuck thaaat" in Kendrick's cadence for nearly a decade now, holy shit.
"Yonkers" Tyler, The Creator
I'll never forget the first time I saw this music video. Life changing.
"Walk" Foo Fighters
IMO one of Foo's best songs ever.
"Cough Syrup" Young the Giant
Sad but groovy. Massive cross over hit. This shit was on Glee.
"Pumped Up Kicks" , "Helena Beat", "Call It What You Want" "Houdini" Foster The People
Only in America can a song about school shootings be so fucking good and accepted with open arms. Entire album is v good. I got it at FYE for $5 in like 2015.
"What You Know" Two Door Cinema Club
Always thought this was Death Cab for Cutie at first. I was basically right.
"Tomorrow" Chris Young
I fucked with country, hard during these days.
"Crazy Girl" Eli Young Band
Kind of fucked up the video takes place in actual psych-ward in a song that is called Crazy Girl but whatever. In 2011 you could still get away with anything on twitter.
"Young Blood" Naked and Famous
This shit jazzes me tf up.
"Edge of Glory", "Born This Way" Lady Gaga
Gaga is a queen. Yeah, I finally learned how to link blogs the right way.
"Wide Awake" Katy Perry
Imagine someone telling you in 2011 that Katy Perry would have to basically give tickets away in like 6 years later?
"Headlines", "HYFR", "The Motto" Drake
ooooooo I neeeded that
Are you high right now?
YOLO is straight 2012 and I do not care. I loved this album. I can remember listening to it walking to class at URI.
"Grenade" Bruno Mars
Shit you could call this 2010 if you really wanted to.
"The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" RHCP
cockblockin isn't allowed (when there is consent)
"Not Over You" Gavin DeGraw
JV 2003 John Mayer but that's okay. It's a good song!
"Lights" Ellie Goudling
I was well documented on my deceased twitter account that Ellie has the voice of an angel.
"No Church In The Wild", "People in Paris", "Otis" Jay Z & Kanye West
Forgot about this but it was massive in 2011.
"Hocolene" Bon Iver
I didn't know Bon Iver was a band, not a solo artist until I was like 24....hand up.
When I saw Eddie Vedder was trending on twitter this morning, like many people I feared the worst. Either dead or he got #metoo'd. Thankfully its just his birthday and while I consider myself a big PJ and Eddie fan I did not know that off the top of my head. In my defense I did not know today was the 23rd when I woke up. #drinkingdoesntmakeyoucool
Happy to see the good news, as a journalist, I felt the need to share this positive information. This is where I made the mistake of saying Eddie Vedder has the greatest voice in rock history.
In perfect social media fashion the few people who disagreed are **to tune of Black** tattooed on-my-brain, not the fact that simply wishing one of my favorite musicians ever HBD via tweet would get DOL so much buzz.
Oh wouldn't it be something if being a hashtag good guy about Eddie Vedder stiiiiiiiiiiiiill (being) aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive was partly responsibly for DOL blowing up? That's not why I got in this business, but if it happens so be it. Happy Birthday to Eddie Vedder, IMO the greatest voice in rock history!
Via Pro Football Talk
After Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise went down on Sunday night, some wondered if the Seahawks might reach into the past to find some help at running back in Week 17 and the postseason. It looks like they’re at least contemplating the possibility of bringing Marshawn Lynch back into the fold. NFL Media reports that both sides are open to renewing their relationship and that Lynch has told people he plans to travel to Seattle on Monday to speak to the Seahawks about a return. Lynch was with the Seahawks from 2010 to 2015, won a Super Bowl, was controversially not given the ball at the end of a Super Bowl loss and crossed the 1,000-yard mark in four of his six seasons with the team. Lynch last played for the Raiders in Week Six last season. He went on injured reserve with a groin injury after running for 376 yards and three touchdowns on 90 carries in his six appearances.
It sucks Chris Carson, Rashad Penny AND C.J. Prosise are all hurt, but if there's ever something good that can come out of it, it's this. I mean how can you not support this move? Marshawn Lynch back to Seattle as the Seahawks embark on another Super Bowl run. As a lover of narrative and happy endings, if this isn't the perfect script?
For grammatical purposes pretend this gif says "would be" instead of" was".......... but Sorry about your car, man.
A Beast Mode-Seahawks reunion just in time for the biggest SNF game in recent memory would be fucking AWESOME. 49ers @ Seahawks for the NFC West crown and a bye/home-field throughout depending on what happens beforehand with one of the biggest faces of the rivalry back just in time? Who says no? Sign me tf up.
Does it matter that Marshawn has been out of the league for a year, wasn't great when we last saw him (averaged under 4 yards a carry in five of the six games he played last year) and definitely does not have clean urine? Not even a little. This is Beast Mode and these are the Seahawks. Even with a stereotypical Seahawk offensive line, you know Russell has crystals that can take a year or three off those tires. I wouldn't be shocked if he's signed before I finish this blog. This is a HUGE, basically playoff game in week 17, then the real playoffs either one or two weeks later depending on how the game plays out. We all know Marshawn Lynch is bout that action.
I used to hate the Seahawks, especially in the Beast Mode/LOB era; although Marshawn was the one guy I always fucked with. How can you not? Probably the most violent runner of the last 25 years with all-time swag. I could watch him run all day.
I guess it makes sense when you really think about with understand of how the NFL runs, the length guys play, injuries, early retirement etc.. but it is wild to me the Seahawks only have a handful of guys still on the team from 2013; Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright and Luke Willson, Willson left and came back so only three players from the 2013 Seahawks have been there since their Super Bowl victory.
I can only appreciate and respect what the Seahawks are doing out west. They've turned into the Pacific Time Zone Patriots in the way they've built this program. Bringing back a former player after a stint away/retirement is a page right out of the Patriots book.
Both won a Super Bowl early in their run together, thanks to the defense, then reinvent themselves as offensive fire powers after the big name players leave. LOB is over and now it's Russ' team. Reminds me of a lot of the Pats and Brady. The main difference being the Patriots won three in four years.
IMO the Russell Wilson-Pete Carroll connection is the closest thing the NFL has to Brady-Belichick outside of Brees-Peyton, although I don't think Peyton is in the same ballpark as Bill or Pete. This postseason could change that narrative for coaches if they get that illusive second Super Bowl. Oh you were *this* close Petey! P.S. As a non-biased football fan I love this potential move for all the reasons just eloquently stated in that blog you just read......as a Patriots fan, while still faithful, I'm realistic about their chances this postseason. Gun to my head they don't win the AFC but then again even with the struggles offensively, they have a fantastic defense, best coach/QB duo ever, and the most prolific postseason WR ever not named Jerry Rice. Wouldn't it be some shit if the Seahawks beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl on a Beast Mode touchdown? Stranger things have happened.
As we approach the crust of the NFL regular-season sandwich, the season finale of Monday Night Football has the potential to be its best game of the year.
The final MNF game of the 2019 NFL season is a classic NFC North battle between the 11-3 Green Bay Packers at the 10-4 Minnesota Vikings; with the division title still very much up for grabs. The Vikings are 5 point favorites. If the Packers can win as a road dog they'll be NFC North Champs for the first time since 2016; ending Aaron Rodgers and the Packs' two-year postseason drought. If Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings can win on Monday Night, something Cousins has NEVER done before, they'll still be alive for the division; although they'll need some help week 17.
Both QBs are quietly having really nice seasons, as long as Aaron Rodgers doesn't have to return to his home state of California (perhaps being in the same state as his parents knocks him off his game??)
Sure, A-a-ron isn't gonna throw for 40 touchdowns, but if he avoids an absolute meltdown the final two games he can set a new career low in interceptions; only 2 through 14 starts. There's a lot of 1 or 0 touchdown performances peppered in; 8 to be precise.
#statguy. I did the research for this, man I hope it's right.
Kirk Cousins is having his best overall season as he's been able to lean on the running game. Through 14 starts he hasn't thrown 40 passes in a game once.
Between Dalvin Cook being out, Adam Thielen still not fully himself and the unavoidable Kirk Cousin MNF/prime time in general narrative, I do not for the life of me understand how the Vikings are 5 point favorites?
This decade, the series is 12-6-2 in favor of the Packers, but since 2015 the Vikings are 5-3-1, so it's really been the tale of two five year windows for this rivalry. I know the Vikings are at home, but to me this game screams Packers. The Packers are still playing for a potential bye. Obviously the Vikings are going to also try to win the football game, but that just really stands out to me. Even with Cook ruled out this is exactly what you want out of a Monday Night Football game this late in the season. Meaningful football! With flexing the NFL has been able to avoid stinkers in prime time (last night withstanding) at least on paper. MNF isn't as lucky. Of all the potential match-ups this week, this is the best one on paper. Week one Saints-Chiefs and Week Seahawks-9ers week 10 are the two stand out guys of the season so far. Hopefully, Packers-Vikings can close out the MNF (regular) season in style. Luckily, we still get the Saturday Wild Card game. Bills beat Texans 24-13.
