4-0. Pretty Ricky Porcello is 4-0. What's even more impressive is his 3.51 era. That and WHIP are way more important when showing how a pitcher is doing than W/L record. I know it was against the awful Atlanta Braves who were 4-14 last night but Rick Porcello gave the Sox 6 and a third innings of shut out baseball. No matter how bad a team is you still have to execute and that's what he did. For a team with such a bad record the Braves actually are a decent team offensively (statically, not name wise, their roster is a joke) they just have awful pitching so despite their record I think it was an impressive start. Plus he got on base twice as well.
Nobody expects Rick Porcello to an ace and he hasn't been pitching like one, but he has been very solid and is finally living up to his contract. I know it's early still, it's not even May but idc I love the sox and I wanna get excited about this team. I was really hard on him last season, and deservingly so, he sucked. This year however things have changed, and he's been very good so I give him credit for doing something right. With no Papi or Hanley last night the bats were quiet and could only get 1 run for Porcello, but it ended up being more than enough. Jackie Bradley, Jr of all guys drove it in with a solo HR in the 7th Price and Kimbrel have struggled. We all know that, but I think they'll be fine, they have the track record to back themselves up. If Porcello can keep pitching somewhere around how he has been, with the added support of E-rod and Carson Smith coming off the DL soon, this team can be very good. They have the offense to win 90+ games and now the pitching is starting to line up and heat up. Carson Smith will be huge so now idiot John Farrell won't pitch 41 year old Koji every night. Sure I'm biased as hell but I'm excited about this season. Now David Price needs to be David Price tonight against the shitty Braves. Let's see if the Sox can get to 2 whole games over .500 tonight!!! P.S. I still want John Farrell the fuck off this team. Double P.S. NASTY pitch by Robbie Ross, Jr to end the 7th. S/O the GOAT Red Sox writer Jared Carrabis for getting the vine.
