THE SILVER PANTS ARE A MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN THE ALL-BLUES AND RESPONSIBLE FOR AT LEAST 10% OF THE WIN.
I finally have a chance to get behind the keys, so I've had some time to let yesterday's Patriots marinate, and I honestly still can't believe that happened. What a fucking win that WE desperately needed.
Yayyyyy we aren't 1-6!!! And everybody who was at 1/6 should be in jail forever you terrorist, treasonist fucks!!!
Going into the game, my hopes were below sea level, but at least we were gonna look good. I'm not gambling rn because I'm hashtag-po', but I thought Bills -7.5 was free money.
The Patriots literally should never wear the blueberries again (and the people agree!)!!!
I've been banging the "Josh Allen is a fraud" drum for a while now. He's a walking turnover, but he's had our number as of late, winning four straight (including a playoff massacre) against New England, which doesn't exactly help my take. The Pats D has made him look like the best QB in the league at times (and if you think he is, let me remind you, Josh Allen has NEVER gone three straight games without a turnover). There was like a three-game span where we didn't force a fucking punt, so I know the Bills are talented despite how inconsistent and fraudulent they may be.
It's hard to gauge this season. We could've beat Philly and Miami but got our fucking doors blown off by the Saints (who are terrible) and the Cowboys (who are good, but also fraud adjacent under McCarthy and Dak) and had DeVante Parker (who I'm so done with) caught one of the best balls Mac has ever thrown; we maaaaybe beat the Raiders. The truth is we're 2-5, and despite coming off a fantastic win against the pride of the AFC East this decade, it might've done more harm than good. I'd rather win 2 or 3 games than 8. If we're gonna suck, I wanna really suck and get a better draft pick. Going 7-10 or 8-9 is the last thing this organization needs. Even with the back-to-back ugly blowouts, we've shown glimpses. Our defense is legit (it sucks that Judon and Gonzo are out for the year). If we can score 24 points a game, we will win most weeks. I'm just still so souped, even if the win may hurt us down the road. We saw so much out of Mac and had to give him a little swag back and some confidence from the rest of the locker room.
Even if we don't make the playoffs (which still seems unlikely), I want to see Mac grow. I'm not married to him as our franchise QB, but I'd like him to prove he can be. That's way easier than having to find a replacement. He wasn't Patrick Mahomes yesterday, but that was probably the best game of his career: 25/30 for 272 yards and 2 TD. His last-second (ish) TD was the only the Pats' 3rd go-ahead passing TD with less than 15 seconds remaining in the past 30 years. Sure, that's a super specific stat, but it's pro-Mac and going in the blog!
I've been saying it to my friends all year, but I don't think Mac is the problem (at least right now lolol).
The Pats (Belichick) fucked up his development by giving him Matt Patricia in the all important second year and no offensive line or real weapons this year. Letting Jakobi go for JuJu Smith-suckster was a massive mistake by Belichick too. Congrats on 300, though! You are the best coach of all-time, but please adjust to the modern game and get some fucking speed!!!
That #59 tackle was worse than me in high school (#keyloss) and kept getting Mac killed. I loved seeing Mike Onwenu at RT. It made all the difference. With time, Mac looked like a solid NFL QB. It's not a novel concept. I just wish it didn't take until week 7 to realize Lowe isn't an NFL-caliber offensive lineman.
It's only one game, and with Miami IN Miami next week, we could quickly go back to earth, but for at least a few days, we, as Patriot fans, can revel in a solid victory against a "Super Bowl contender." With Indy, the Commies, and the G-men on the schedule after Miami, it isn't impossible to be 5-6 or 6-5 going into December. The formula is simple! I wish the Pats would take me in as an advisor. Everybody knows Dozie knows ball (I won my fantasy last year and am 5-2 this season).
Pop needs 8-12 touches per game!!!! I loved what I saw out of the speedster yesterday.
Ryland had his best game as a pro. I still hate trading Nick Folk, he's been one of the best kickers in the league the last few years, but Vinatieri had a slow start to his career too. Maybe Ryland will be okay (even though 37 is a gross number for a kicker).
We need to improve on the ground, but Zeke had a few nice runs but a "blah" game overall. I don't know what's going on with Dre; he's been the biggest disappointment of the season for a super disappointing team, but this catch and run was his best (and most significant) play of the year. Hopefully, he'll build off of it.
I'm just so proud of how Mac answered. Of course, seeing the Pats give up their lead so quickly was a little concerning, but I had a feeling that was coming. Josh Allen is super-overrated, but he's bound to make a few plays from his athleticism. It feels like Mac's been in that situation a dozen times but never prevailed. It was great to see him pull it off (and maybe save the season????).
I'm really trying not to be Johnny Homer. This team has a LONG way to go to become a contender, but at the very least, it was nice to beat the Bills. I used to have nothing against them when they were the lowly Bills, and while I'd like to see their fanbase win a Super Bowl someday, I don't like McDermott and think Allen is super overrated. I'd rather have Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts or Lamar. Maybe even Herbert. For now, we have Mac, and for the time being, I'm glad we do. I still believe in him. If he can stay upright, and the running game can get going, who knows where this team can go (probably 7-10, but damnit, let's believe for a little while). P.S. NOBODY LIKES THE VIOLET BEAUREGARDE BLUEBERRY UNIS!!!!! Hi Ho Silver Pants!!!!
