Bill Belichick Told Tim Tebow To Turn Down $1 Million Endorsement

I was so happy when the Pats signed Tim Tebow in June of 2013. I really thought they'd resurrect his career. (get it, he's Christian??) If there was anybody who could save him, it'd be Bill Belichick. The greatest coach who ever lived.  That obviously didn't happen as the Pats cut him after their final pre-season game and he hasn't played in the regular season since. 

In an interview with Fox News (boohoo) Tebow promoting his new book "Shaken"( which is obviously on my Christmas list) said he was offered $1 million for an endorsement during his quick summer with the Patriots during training-camp 2013 but went to Bill Belichick first to make sure it was okay as he didn't want to step on anyones toes. When Bill said he'd prefer that he didn't do it, he didn't do it. To all the people who say Tebow loves being a distraction I  think that proves you dead wrong, dude just wanted to be on the team.  Then a few weeks later Belichick cut his ass and Tebow was out of a job.

This move says a lot about both parties as Tebow despite signing a 33 million dollar deal with the Broncos after he was drafted saw nowhere close to all that money since he was traded after just 2 seasons with the team. Timmy could've really used that money especially since his contract with the Pats was not guaranteed.  Obviously it's not like he was starving but an extra million dollars could've gone a long way for him. But he didn't care, he didn't want to be a distraction and turned it down, hoping maybe that would help him when it came down to cut-down day. 

It did not. The Patriots cut Tebow on August 31st, 2013. Or as I like to refer to it, the worst day of my life.  

Just another story about how cold and heartless Bill Belichick is because I think everybody knew the Pats weren't going to keep Tebow on their roster. Just didn't fit and they didn't need a 3rd QB.  Could've been straight up with him and at least let the guy make a quick million bucks but Bill Belichick does not operate that way. 

P.S. Did she call him Tom towards the end? So disrespectful. This man won an NFL playoff game in January of 2012!
