They say a series doesn't start until the home team loses so given the results of tonight's game this series either just started today or never happened. Cliche alert but it's the two greatest words in sports tn "game 7". First of two Conference Final Game 7's. First time that's happened since 1979.
The Boston Celtics host the three-time defending conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers for game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. It's been mentioned ad nauseam but it really is unbelievable the Celtics are here. We all know what they've dealt with. Despite all of that if they win a home game tonight the Boston Celtics are going to the NBA Finals. Something the team has done every time it's played home this postseason.
Am I nervous?
Of course, but in a weird-way I feel like the Celtics are in a no lose situation. Obviously it will fucking suck if they lose. I don't need to deal with all the Lebron dick sucking from every media outlet, but this team shouldn't be here. Appreciate what we're seeing. Jaylen Brown is 21. Jayson Tatum is only 19 (ik he's 20). They're becoming stars before our very eyes. When Kyrie was ruled out for the year everybody stuck a fork in the C's. Tbh I thought they'd lose to Milwaukee. I didn't think they'd be able to beat Philly. Now they're a win away from a trip to Finals, and possibly ending Lebron's time in Cleveland for a 2nd time. This run is one of the most unexpected in Boston sports history. What's even more shocking is that the C's should win this game. They're slight favorites as of now. Undefeated at home in the playoffs (which honestly makes me more worried about tn) It's always scary when you're in a game 7 and the best player is on the other team, but man this Celtics team is just different at home. Even without Gordo and Kyrie this roster is way better than Cleveland's excluding Lebron. His supporting cast is arguably the worst it's ever been and at 33 Lebron is being asked to do more than ever. I expect the Garden to be crazy, but I also expect Lebron to put on a show. Just gotta hope his supporting cast can continue to suck. I think if the C's can hold the non-lebron Cavs to under 70 points they have a great chance. Luckily for the Celts Kevin Love. easily the Cavs 2nd best player is out for tonight's game. I'm not just saying this to make potential loss easier to deal with but I do honestly C's are in a no lose situation. They're playing with found money. This is the closest thing to a Cinderella run in today's NBA. Nobody saw this coming. But with Brad Stevens at the helm that shouldn't be too surprising. As long as there's no injuries that fuck up next season I'll be fine win or lose tonight. I just really fucking hope this team wins man. It'd be just like 2010. Send Lebron home. To me that will be like winning it all. As for the game itself. Deep down I have a bad feeling that it ends tonight, but even if it does the future is sooooooo fucking bright for this team that it needs to wear shades. The Hayward injury was in a way a blessing in disguise since it lead to massive growth and development for Jaylen and Jayson. I cannot wait for next season, but I sure as hell don't want this one to end yet. I know we're gonna see a classic Lebron performance tonight, so the key to this game imo is can the Celtics keep up offensively? We've seen throughout this series and all playoffs long that the C's can hold teams to below 90 offensively. It's will they have the fire power offensively? Can't have Al Horford and Tatum combining for 21 (why you got a 12 garage when you only got 6 cars?) points and expect to win. I think Tatum is gonna make up for a disappointing game 6. Already within striking distance of the all-tine rookie playoff scoring record. If he can break it tonight I love our chances. Home teams have dominated up to this point, just gotta hope the trend continues. Let's go Celtics!
