This team deserves a much deeper diving into (which will come) but for tonight it's off the cuff emotion! Mondo credit to the Yanks for making it a series and taking the first two but the Red Sox can only be held in check for so long. I feel a lot better after taking the finale. A sweep there worries me idgaf. You wanna play well going into October, I think it matters. Look at the 2016 Sox. As for tonight (continued) it feels FANTASTIC to party for a division title in the Bronx. This time they're doing after a win, which is really cool. Yeah, E-Rod stunk on ice and Hembree was obviously horrible but that is not a surprise. I wouldn't trust Heath Hembree to park my car. Mookie Betts taking over a game shouldn't be a surprise either.

So many great moments have taken place this season and it's been an incredible ride but the sad truth about this team is that it will only be remembered by what is does (or does not) accomplish in October.
I personally think anything short of a deep ALCS seiries will be a disappointment. It's gonna be a historic season one way or another. Really hope it's for good ones. Oh sweet as I edit this Kimbrel gives up a lead off triple.
The last two seasons the Wild-Card AL East team ended up in the ALCS, not the Sox. The playoffs have been over before they even started. It's not fun!
I expect rock fights in the playoffs but if the Sox can't get out of the ALDS I'm gonna KMS. I do think the AL is wide open. Luckily the Astros/Indians will force one of the two biggest threats to eliminate the other.. Everybody scares me; but I also think we can beat anybody. Given the history of the rivalry idk how any Red Sox fan can go into a Yankee series truly confident? ESPECIALLY in a short series. Fuck that. The Tribe scares me the most even though they'll enter the postseason with the fewest wins of any American League club. Luckily that would be in the ALCS with homefield. They're (indians) built to win in October, have been there before and have the best manager in baseball. Plus the whole win it for Wahoo thing. White people killing yet another Indian--smh, It's not gonna be easy. Especially with this pen. Luckily I think the Sox might be able to piece it together with guys who haven't had as large of regular season roles. We could see Steven Wright, Poyner, Workman getting big playoff spots. No thanks with Hembree or Barnes. I'm rambling but just had to give my sox some love. For tonight let's celebrate something that still deserves a ton of love. The Red Sox are AL East Champs. That is a big deal. This team has not won the division that often, their 2000's mini-dynasty was fueled by wild-card spots. And to do it three straight years is just incredible. No John Farrell so I love the chances in the playoffs. As for who I'd rather face in the playoffs...I'd rather see A's. They have been a great story but just don't have the starters to scare you. Although that pen is a different story. I actually have a lot of love for this franchise so should they beat the Sox it'd be a million times easier to handle emotionally. Yankees playoff series win will crush me like the 98 DMB classic.
