I didn't realize it until a few months ago, but I'm a huge Lady Gaga guy. I hadn't thought about her music much for a few years. She was kind of out of the spotlight to me. I knew she was doing shit with Tony Bennett but from like Born This Way until right around when Joanne came out I didn't really think about Gaga much. Then I heard some of her old stuff on the radio a few months ago, I can't remember if it was Just Dance or Poker Face but I know it was one of those two and it immediately just brought me back to high school. She has a bunch of hits that I love that I didn't even necessarily realize until recently that I love them. Music to me is so synonymous with time and when I think of Gaga it brings me back to my junior and senior years of high school. She wasn't like my favorite artist back then, but she was huge and always playing. I liked her music. When I think Lady Gaga, I think of "The Fame" her debut album that came out in 2008 and it's reissue "The Fame Monster" both produced some gigantic hits that were the soundtrack for some of the most fun times of my life. When I hear "Just Dance" or "Poker Face" I feel like I'm 16 again at a basement party in high school getting drunk off vodka in a water bottle. I can remember being at lunch and people saying what they thought a "disco stick" was. I don't need to go down the list but I will anyways. Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi, Love Game, Bad Romance, Telephone. All were huge, all take your boy Dozo down memory lane. I go through music binges and a few months ago The Fame Monster was all I listened to at the gym for like a week. I fucking love it. As for the performance I think this was the turning point of the game for me. I was not very happy about the first half but I was like, yo I'm a Gaga guy, I'm not gonna let the Patriots ruin this performance for me. I had been looking forward to both the team and the half time show, I was gonna try my best to enjoy it. So for whatever it was like 15 minutes I just tried to be distracted by the show. I loved the intro with mash up of God Bless America and This Land Is Your Land. Huge political statement there. She's Gaga she can do it. It felt right. The show had everything. Fake Jumps from the top of stadiums. Keytars! An emotional yet somehow very sexual rendition of A Million Reasons. Gaga showin off the hands. It was an amazing performance. We heard at least bits and pieces of all her biggest hits. When she came out with Poker Face the emphasis on Texas was awesome. She was singing and dancing the whole time it was incredible. No lip syncing. Even in an emotional puddle down 21-3 I still believed in my guys and idk in a weird way it all started with the halftime show. It was just a break from the action. I could relax. I still don't feel like I'm entirely here. Like I mentally can't believe that happened. It was perfect. I can't believe that comeback actually happened. It was one of the most amazing moments of my life. I cannot give Gaga the proper respect she deserve in this blog, but I think that was one of the best half time shows I've ever watched. Here's the whole performance.
