With the Tame Impala's highly anticipated fourth album; The Slow Rush set for release on Valentine's Day, it makes plenty of sense for the "band" to release a music video for promotional purposes. I mean why release one during the first 313 days between the release of its first single and today? Luckily, Tame did not disappoint; Existential synth-rock fans are for a treat with Tame Impala's Lost in Yesterday music video.
Lost in Yesterday has been in my elip (elliptical for the lamez) rotation since its release. Finally there is a visual stimuli to go along with this groove. Back when used to get on it, four out of sevennnnnnnnnnnnn hits different. I grew up a slave to TRL. Every school day I would be glued to the kitchen TV shielding videos I wasn't supposed to watching. Despite the death of music videos on M(usic)TV around 2007; Youtube has been able to keep the art of the music video alive and kickin! Normally Tame Impala videos are either really trippy, or really sexy; sometimes both. Lost in Yesterday is nice change of pace, where Kevin Parker stars as Ombre Jesus in this period piece set at a shitty 70's wedding with not so subtle references to the lyric "eventually terrible memories, turn into great ones" plastered all over it like the wallpaper of era.
I've watched it three times already for this blog and it gets better every time. Here are some of my favorite characters so far.

As of now, Lost in Yesterday is far and away my favorite song released so far. It should be a top 10 hit, but I'm not holding my breath.
