The New York Yankees season is over.

Really quick recap because I'm exhausted. Kimbrel trying to blow the season woke me up and got the blood flowing, and now I'm flying high off the adrenaline from the win.

Pretty Ricky was outstanding. Vintage Cy Young Rick. 5 strong (should've been more)

3rd great (by today's playoff standards) start by a Red Sox SP this series. That's something that really excites me next round. I honestly would have Price go 3rd or 4th this time around. But let's worry about that later. Rick Porcello finally has a post season win after 12 appearances (and surprisingly only 4 starts). 13th times the charm. So happy for him.  Wish he went a little deeper, and am truly still perplexed by the move. He was cruising with a unbelievably low pitch count. Think Cora managed a little scared there, luckily they held on and it didn't matter. Sale was Sale. He's gotta start giving you a lot of innings now, I think he's up for the challenge. I didn't agree with a lot of the moves, but man it seemed like everything A.C. touched turned to gold.

I was terrified in the 9th. I thought every pitch was gonna be a 600 foot walk off home run. Stanton looked lost. Wild how much Dirty Craig made us sweat it out, only fitting the final play was decided on a challenge. The ump raising that fist was like the death thump in Gladiator that bloggers love to use, Never saw the movie but that was textbook usage (verbal meme) by me.

I will say this. Other than Kimbrel, I've loved what I've seen from Red Sox relievers so far this series.  Wouldn't that be something if Matty Backpacks and Heater made us all eat our words.  Favorite part of the game was Kinsler's double going over state trooper mega mind's monster dome.

The Red Sox win, theeeeeeeeeeeeee REEeeed SooooOooox WINnnnnnnnnnnnnnnNNNnnnnn!

Savage move by the Red Sox (who are celebrating for the second time in Yankee Stadium this season) to blast that God awful "New York, New York" whilst popping campaign like they won a (division series) championship game.

P.S. It's sooooooooo fucking satisfying to not only clinch the AL East in New York, but eliminate the Yankees there too in the postseason. It's crazy to look back and see, but most "experts" were just handing the Yankees the division because of the Stanton trade. I thought they had a legit chance, but for everybody to just write off the Red Sox looking at how this year has gone so far, was asinine.

Double P.S.

I'm officially worried about Craig Kimbrel/Mitch Williams in the 9th.
