Kwity Paye telling his mom on live TV that she's now retired was easily the highlight of draft night. While we're still months away from Kwity making his NFL debut, he's already turning heads with his work ethic and intensity during his brief time with the Colts to this point.
If you know anything about Kwity's story, you know he's not someone who's going to be satisfied with just making it to the league, not after all he's gone through. He's going to be a stud, and I wish the Pats took him at 15. IDFW the Colts, but I will be rooting for Kwity every time he takes the field. If he weren't rocking #51, I'd CONSIDER getting his jersey.
With the Colts defense in need of an improvement in their pass rush, finishing 14th in the league (upper middle of the pack) in sacks, many expect Kwity to be an instant starter/impact player. All I know is he's already garnering praise from one of the NFL's best linebackers. All compliments are not created equal. When someone with Darius Leonard's resume is showing you love, you know it means something.
P.S.
As soon as I read that quote, I instantly thought of one of the greatest coaching rants of all-time. WE NEED MORE DOGS
