Remembering Mac Miller: At a Tiny Desk taped last month, the Pittsburgh rapper was both triumphant and reflective. It was the first time he performed songs from his album, "Swimming," in front of an audience. https://t.co/lW9ZWoXoGU

I think the fact that I'm not that familiar with his musical catalog and am still shook up about his passing says a lot about Mac Miller.

The Pittsburgh native rapper who broke onto the scene with his mixtape K.I.D.S. in 2010 was just 26 years old.

I feel like the rap game really passed me by in like 2012-13ish but can remember my early college years in dorm rooms and at parties with Mac Miller playing in the background. When I think of Mac Miller it's "Senior Skip Day" and "Donald Trump". I really don't know too much about him. Like I found out about the Ariana Grande shit yesterday too. I'm out of the loop af with pop popular. But I knew he just had a new album come out and I saw on youtube he was on the NPR tiny desk. I knew people who wanted to see him in Boston this fall. It looked like he was about to blow up again. He was ready to go out and do what he loved-peform. It's fucked.

I just wanna go on tour

The show is going to be special every night.

I wish it started tomorrow.

Reports said he spent the night before he died watching the NFL opener with friends. It's just so sad man I know people are gonna be like well don't do whatever drug killed him and partly I agree, but it's also not that easy. Everybody has their issues, some just can handle it better and without all the facts out yet I feel like it's not right to speculate. There's gonna be a lot more well written, well informed pieces paying their respect to Mac and I'll be the first to admit that. But even with only having a brief glimpse of what he brought to the music world I'm still sad to see a guy so young with so much life left, go so soon and needlessly.

What has me fucked up is how he was only 26 years old. I'm 26. I can remember being a freshmen in college hearing him for the first time. It doesn't seem that long ago and now he's gone.

There's unfortunately many too soon deaths with people in the public eye, but from the outcry how the last 24 hours from such a wide array of people shows that Mac Miller was loved by a lot of people.

RIP Malcolm James McCormick.

God fucking dammit. You were such an incredible person. You changed so many lives. Had so much love in your heart. You inspired me throughout highschool, and I wouldn't be where I was today without you. Never a more kind and sincere and beautiful person. I fucking love you mac.

I dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him.

One of hip-hop’s most beloved and respected rappers/producers, Mac Miller has sadly passed away at the age of 26. Our condolences to Mac’s family and friends. Terrible loss for the hip-hop community. pic.twitter.com/9EVAHPcnn5
