After leaving New England for the Miami Dolphins on a four-year 51 million dollar deal, 366 days, and 30 million dollars later, Kyle Van Noy is back in a Patriot uniform.
LFG indeed! What a touch with the Boogie Nights sample. *chefs kiss* I'm so fired up right now. It's hashtag personal. You know this man is heated after being kicked to the curb by the Dolphins after such a productive year on a team that makes the playoffs like 80% of the time. The 2021 Boogeymen are going to be much, much scarier than the 2019 iteration with Dont'a, KVN, the newly signed Matthew Judon and soon to have a new number, Josh Oche. I'm completely talking myself into Super Bowl contention. Let's not forget this defense finished 7th in points allowed last season with five-win talent.
We all assumed KVN was coming back after he was a salary cap victim in Mi-am-i, but now things are official on a two-year deal with worth "up to". $13.2 milly; who knows what that actually means? (unless the info is already out) Not only is the two-time Super Bowl champ clutch playmaking inside/edge-man back, but the Patriots also get to keep their 4th round compensatory pick for losing him to such a big deal. Serves them right! They deserve it after all these docked picks over the years. You really can't write this stuff even though I'm attempted to do so right now after some FORVER A PATRIOT/St. Patrick's Day partaking. I hope the rest of the NFL enjoyed getting their hacks in at the Pats expense when they went 7-9 with a league-high in opt-outs, no camp, no pre-season, four-win talent, and the loss of the greatest player in franchise history. After the Patriots signed like 14 guys during the league tampering period, Kyle was like, "I got mine in Miami, do what you need to do, and we'll talk tomorrow." I'm guessing that's exactly how it went down. I cannot not wait to see this defense. You can say Cam can't throw all you want but it may not matter when you're giving up 16 points a game. The Pats continue to sure up a roster that went 7-9 with 3-13 talent. Yeah, I'm going to keep reverse Gob Bluthing the talent level last year; get used to it. I’m two blogs away from saying Belichick brought an 0-16 team to basically .500. As for Mr. Uche, as a 2nd rounder who actually looks like he has a future here, I highly doubt he's attached to such a "meh" number like 53. It's the perfect chance to jump ship. He wore 6 at Michigan, so that's out. Take whatever offer Kyle gives for it, if there's any at all and pick something with a little more panache. After fleecing Miami for 30 million guaranteed only feels right to wet Josh's beak a little.
Yayyy he did!
P.S. Pats vs Bucs in the Super Bowl???
