There was no official #TML blog last due to poor planning by yours truly. I went to a Halloween Party up in Boston didn't get back in time, but as a man of the people, I still gave out a losing ticket for those of you still riding with 7 minutes to spare.
The Bengals and Lions made that a worthless 6-2 showing and seeing that typed out only makes me angrier with myself. That's what you get for counting on loser franchises. A real pro would've known the Jets were the ultimate letdown spot for Cincy after a massive divisional win against the Ravens. I was all in on the Bengals, I lost in survivor because of their collapse, and while they were on the wrong side of one of the worst calls of the season, it should've never come down to that situation.
This season has just shown how impressive last year's 6 win +47U campaign was. The #TML life is not for everybody, and at this point, I'm not even sure if it's for me. -8U is less than ideal, and the losing is getting me down worse than the loss of funds. I'm going to waste money regardless, but it's the getting off on predicting the future and being right that gets my blood pumping. The much-needed extra cash is just a bonus.
One of my friends/riders gave me some kind words earlier this week.
And sometimes you gotta soup yourself up!!!
I think the problem is the lack of write-ups this season, not as much effort, so today, we've got at least a sentence on each pick. This is our week!!
Falcons +12.5 (from +6.5) @ New Orleans
The Saints are coming off a huge emotional high last week, and this feels like a textbook letdown spot plus, let's not forget this is a team led by fucking Trevor Siemian. The Saints could still very well win this game, but I'm trusting Matty Ice to keep it semi-close in a divisional game. Plus, the Braves just won the World Series for the first time since 1995 when google didn't even exist. I'm hoping some good vibes rub off on the Falcons. I need Mike Davis to have a pulse today for the sake of D.K. and the Diva Kupps.
Bills -8.5 (from -14.5) @ Jacksonville
It's the Josh Allen Bowl!
No James Robinson for the Jaguars; the Bills might be the best team in the NFL. I don't like teasing huge numbers like that, but the Bills should win by at least 20.
Browns/Bengals OVER 41.5 (from 47.5)
Before 1981, the Bengals and Browns wore essentially the same uniforms. Both are reeling after upset losses next week, I don't really have a feel for a winner, but between two decent (Browns) to good (Bengals) offenses, you know we can find a way to get into the 20s.
Bengals average 27.5 PPG. Browns average 22.9 PPG.
Ravens -1 (from -7) vs. Vikings
If you can't beat Cooper Rush, I don't like your chances against Lamar Jackson. Ravens win this game.
Patriots/Panthers OVER 35.5 (from 41.5)
I almost teased past zero to make it Pats +2.5/3, but wanted to give myself more wiggle room. The Panthers are a mess right now, but CMC is back and I'm sure he'll look like prime CMC against the Pats. 35.5 is just too low!
Chargers +6 (from pick 'em) @ Eagles
Oh so the Eagles blew out the Lions, big deal. How about finding my guy Jared Cook in the endzone a couple times??? I love the Chargers is a bounce back spot.
Chiefs -1 (from -7) vs Packers
If the Chiefs can't beat the Jordon Love Packers then I'm officially ready to call them hot frauds and more broken than my mental health during a school day. If the Chiefs have any self respect or chance this year they'll win this game.
Rams -1.5 (from -7.5) vs Titans
No Derrick Henry, Adrian Peterson is 49 years old. The Rams are the best team in football and only getting better. It may be a bit basic, but basic plays sometimes. Rams roll to close it out! We're back! Cooper Kupp 9 for 163 and 2 TD.
