Song: Little Lighter (2018) Artist: Ripe Album: Joy in the Wild Unknown I've never heard this song before until now (I'm diggin that bass line). Happy Birthday Bill!

Last week, I wrote about all the right-wing performative outrage over Bud Light acknowledging that a trans person is a person. Would you believe these people who think child marriage is okay, but gay marriage is wrong are still crying about Bud Light?
This video reads as an SNL skit but is 100% serious. MAGA-brain rot syndrome is real.
These folks are getting a ton of miles out of the same shitty bathroom jokes. Their tires are as smooth as their brains. Do you actually think this person should use the men's room????
I wouldn't be surprised if this SETH dude has vintage "whites only" signs above the bathrooms in his home. These tweets hit the nail on the head.
It's all one big grift. It blows my mind that people are so worked up about this, but then again, their cult told them to, so it makes perfect sense. This guy with the charisma of an ingrown pube is just trying to cash in on ignorant losers who truly hate pronouns because they failed 2nd grade English. I genuinely pity these people who are so unintelligent on both an intellectual and emotional level. Why are you so mad? Can you even tell us what "woke" even means? Why is it so bad, and why is it so scary to you? Is the woke monster in the room with us right now? It sounds like you need a nice, cold, refreshing Bud Light to fucking relax for a second.
WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS?!?!?!? If these people gave 1/6 of a fuck about mass shootings as they do about trans people or drag queen story hour, maybe we could make some progress in slowing down the cascade of bullets that rains down on schools???? Oh that's right, they want to destroy public education. Clearly, this guy cares about conservative family values with a fair offer like this!
I bet that tastes like it was squeezed out of a sweaty wife-beater
Did an 8th grader write that copy? What are your "values?" That it's okay to dehumanize people you don't understand? There's no problem with believing in God but using God as a shield for your bigotry is most certainly a problem. Hypocrites! I'll pray for them!
P.S. This "ultra right" beer is 100% produced in Chicago. There's no other reason to say "northern Illinois" other than trying to mislead.
Double P.S.
Interesting data!
Triple P.S.
Ole Dozo loves the queer community (I'm going to my first gay wedding this summer) and Bud Light. It's gonna take a much bigger story for me to give them up, but this meme is hilarious and I'll tip my cap. Song: Don't Stop the Music (1980) Artist: Yarbrough & Peoples Album: The Two of Us One of my boys, whose music taste I respect more than anybody's, sent me this, and I fw it heavy (minus the annoying ass Alvin & the Chipmunks background vocals, but it's soooo funky I can look past that). This song peaked at #19; had they dropped that Alvin garbage, it would've easily made the Top 5. I almost want to give them the benefit of the doubt since I'm sure in 1980, that felt like some cool new technology, but unlike that synth, it does not stand the test of time.
The 2022-23 Boston Celtics finished the regular season 57-25 (good for 2nd in the East). This team could've easily won 60+ games but threw a few away with crucial mistakes down the stretch (how did we lose to the fucking Rockets???). None were as embarrassing as Grant Williams saying he's going to make both (free throws) before missing both in a chance that would've won the game for the Celtics.
Since Grant said he's looking for a deal in the range of 20 million a year, things have not gone super well for him. Since Valentine's Day, when reports of his salary demands came out, Grant is averaging 6.5/3.9/1.2 in a hair over 20 minutes a night. He's shooting .422% from the floor and .354% from three---not exactly 20 million-a-year numbies (although NBA contracts are insane compared to football with role guys).
I like Grant. IDK if he'll be on the C's past this season, but for a late 1st rounder, he's been a great fit and had some monumental moments (game seven vs. Milwaukee). Who knows how much he'll play in the playoffs, but at least he can have a little fun at his own expense. The phrase "him" and all its variations have jumped the shark, but at least Grant knows when he's not being "him."
I'd argue that for not just the league, but all avenues of life!
Credit to Grant for having some fun at his own expense. If he wants to make 20 million a year, might I suggest scoring 12ish a game off the bench with solid defense for the next two months? The Celtics playoff run starts Saturday afternoon. Hopefully, Grant and the rest of the C's are ready for another NBA Finals: Presented by YoutubeTV run. I'd love nothing more than to see Grant put up numbies that get him paid elsewhere en route to the Celtics 2nd championship since 1987 (which is fewer than storied organizations like the Florida/Miami Marlins (2), Minnesota Twins (2), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2), Houston Rockets (2), Detroit Pistons (3), Miami Heat (3), Houston Astros (2), Washington Redskins/Football Team/Commanders (2) and Los Angeles/St. Louis/Los Angeles again Rams (2) won over that same time frame).
It should come as no surprise that this "speech" aired on THE FLORIDA CHANNEL.
There used to be a time in my life when I didn't give a fuck about the words that came out of my mouth or were put online. I didn't think twice and just said whatever I was thinking, usually hoping for a laugh. People used to say my brain had no "on-deck circle," which got me in trouble more times than I can count growing up. I'd eventually pull a 180 and become too afraid to say shit, fearing potential consequences and conflict. Don't get me wrong, I'll still fuck up and say things that I shouldn't, but the frequency is incomparable to who I was from childhood until my brain finished growing a few years back.
You may read that and think, "Dozie, how the hell can you say that when you run this blog that is nothing but the inner workings of your weird brain." I would answer, friend, you've got no idea how much I censor myself now. There's a reason it takes me 2 hours to publish a blog that takes 5 minutes to read. But fuck it; I'm saying exactly how I feel here. Does this Webster Barnaby not see the irony of what he's saying about trans people? How can a black man possibly have these takes about another minority group?? Does he not know? He said it's a fact that trans people are mutants. I'm not sure if you paid attention in school or ever used the information superhighway to do a little bit of your own research, but not too long ago, people used to proudly speak that way about black people. Hell, there are still plenty of scumbags who still think and act that way. If you have grandparents who are alive and over 70 years old, depending on what part of the country they lived in, they grew up in a time when Jim Crow was still the way. Bathroom usage was a critical focal outrage point for those folks too! Now I'll admit I'm biased here. I'm a hashtag good guy. I believe trans people deserve human rights and dignity that all people are supposed to receive. I'm not someone who tries to make life harder for other people. Sure, I may do it unintentionally at times. Like, I threw up all over a bathroom stall during the Goose concert I went to a couple weeks ago (not from drinking too much, but from just general fat guy life). Miraculously, even with my hair down, I didn't get a drop on me. The same cannot be said for the walls and toilet I sprayed like the Exorcist. So I was sitting down to shit (as one does) and felt the puke coming. I got up, turned, and tried to get into the toilet, but only about 15% of my deposit ever made it. I was embarrassed, but I wasn't about to blow up my own spot and risk getting kicked out when there were still like 4 songs, aka 2 hours left in the show. So I got up, went into another stall, and finished shitting (the original reason I was in the bathroom) and heard the horrors of people who discovered the scene, feeling smaller and smaller as I listened to the co-ed cries of horror. As gross as the situation was, it happened. The woman who cleaned it up threw some magic dust down that brought the stall back to its former glory. At least I felt bad and told the woman she was doing God's work as I left and passed her to wash my hands. So yes, I admit that sometimes I make life a little shittier for others, but it's never intentional. I just can't wrap my head around why people think trans people are such a fucking threat. They're not. How many priests, teachers, coaches, parents, family members, other church leaders, etc., have to commit sexual crimes against children for people to realize they're the risk? Trans people just want to be themselves and live their fucking lives. That includes things like going to the bathroom and playing sports. I don't get what's the big deal. Suddenly, people care about "protecting" women's sports. It's a smoke screen. They don't care. No girls that were gonna get scholarships are losing them because they lost a race to a trans girl in high school. Webster Barnaby is a real-life supervillain. Of course, he's British; with a name like that, he sure isn't from a country that drives on the right side of the road. This man has obviously dealt with racism in his pathetic life. How can someone become such a piece of shit that they can be from a demographic with a storied history of mistreatment and human rights violations, then pass that same horrible shit on another group of people? Was he like I can't wait to treat other people so shitty? I don't understand it. I came from a divorced home, so potentially having kids that grow up that same way is one of my biggest fears. I don't want my children to deal with that pain. Then again, I'm a decent person. This Barnaby fellow clearly isn't. If he dealt with pain, he wanted the next person to feel it twice as severely. It's pathetic. I find it hilarious when someone uses their belief in Jesus Christ to be a piece of shit. Like I went to Christian School for two-thirds of a school year literally 20 years ago, and I know more about their religion than they do. When Jesus comes back, do these Maga pieces of human shit really think Jesus will be impressed with who they are? The dude preached love, peace, and acceptance, and I cannot think of a less loving, peaceful, or accepting group of people than conservative Christians. Webby Barn sounds like a supervillain from a shitty 90s movie. "THIS IS PLANET EARTH!" Well, buddy, you don't sound like you were created on it. You sound like an evil space alien who uses God as a shield for your ignorance and hate. You're a fucking loser, and even though God loves all his children, there's no doubt he's disappointed with you and all close-minded individuals who make a mockery of his teachings every single day. Image calling this Goddess a mutant? If she made eye contact with Webby B for 5 seconds, he'd cream his pants.
Webby B's hate-filled rant was so fucking ironic that Alanis Morrisette will sample it in the 30-year anniversary reprint of Jagged Little Pill. He really had the balls to say there is so much darkness in the world today. This dude is literally the one blocking the sun from shining, and he's complaining about how dark it is. Ironically, if he walks into the wrong place full of conservative Republicans, they're probably saying the same shit.
The real problem is that "transgenderness," as they refer to it, represents something that the right in this country fears, nonconformity and new possibilities. It's someone saying, no, this isn't who I am, and doing something about it. They hate that because their whole identity is based on following made-up rules and submitting. The existence of trans people challenges their beliefs. That's why the Christian right in this country is cool with fascism because it still protects their identity. Webster was right about one thing. There is so much evil in our world today, but people like YOU are directly responsible for it. I still can't believe a 63-year-old black man could be so out of touch. Like he's literally saying the shit that George Wallace or David Duke would've said about his people. This is why learning about history is so vital for a functional society...how many times do we need to see people making the same mistakes? Spoiler alert to the fascists...that didn't end well for you and you're gonna lose this time too. P.S. Garbage humans like Webby are exactly why this country was founded upon the separation of church and state. Double P.S. Webby has since apologized and OF COURSE THIS DUDE IS BACKTRACKING. At least he admits he has no fucking clue what he's talking about. Unfortunately, that's usually the case in the countless examples of the right attacking freedom. via: ABC In his comments, Barnaby expressed his lack of understanding about gender dysphoria and language around gender: "To all the folks that are in the audience that consider themselves gender dysphoria, cis – I don't know what all that means. I really don't know what all that means." Song: No Other Heart [live] (2015) Artist: Mac DeMarco Album: Another One I hope Mac releases new music (WITH LYRICS) soon. Maybe giving him a little SOD love will put those vibes into the universe **fingers crossed emoji**. You'll Never Believe It, but There Was Another Mass Shooting in the Greatest Country on Earth!4/10/2023
Hand up; I didn't wake up for good today until like 3 pm. Sometimes it's hard for your boi to get up in the morning (or mid-afternoon) due to the pain of living in a crumbling society/world with no lover to help cope, but after writing a SOD blog and rage-quitting two Madden games, I suppose it's time to hit the keyboard.
Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe how I feel every single day of my life in essentially all aspects of it. It blows my fucking mind there are so many shitty, awful people out there who lack basic empathy and compassion. How does it not fuck you up to see so many problems that could easily be solved if we (as a society) did the right things? I'm far from perfect, but I'm proud of who I am, and who I am is someone who, despite trying to put my best foot forward in life, is worn tf down from all the constant negativity. When I finally arose and checked social media and my texts to see what I had missed, one of the first things I saw was news of a mass shooting at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky.
The article below was written after the recent mass shooting in Nashville, but it could be applied to any of the countless examples of gun violence in this country.
As long as this is the attitude Republican representatives have towards mass shootings, we are FUCKED.
In other words...
This is almost too on the nose. Fuck Rafael Cruz.
As shitty as things can be (and holy fuck are they), I am trying to stay positive and not let the news cycle destroy me. I had a buddy this weekend call me out and say I shouldn't care so much about others because it's negatively impacting my life, but I can't just unplug this part of my brain. I'm sorry I care about people and want life to be good for as many as possible. It breaks my fucking heart that this is our reality. How many people have to die before there's some fucking action? Unfortunately, some people in power who actually care and want to make a difference were just removed from their position by some cowards who hate democracy.
Only in America!
I believe in God. I'm not anti-thoughts and prayers, but when that's all you're willing to offer after all these senseless tragedies instead of actually fucking doing something...FUCK YOU! I hate Christians who think they can use their faith as an excuse to be a terrible person. Jesus loves us all, but I'm sure he's not thrilled at how you manipulate his messages of love and acceptance to be a bigot.
I'll end with this: Mass shootings are a side effect of living in a capitalist society. As long as elected officials get paid off by special interests and big corporations who don't want to see their bottom line affected by legislation, we are fucked. The NRA's blood money and Republicans' ignorance are decimating this nation. I loathe the far-right. They are the biggest threat to America. As long as I'm alive, I will never stop using my voice to fight back, but it's starting to look like we're gonna need a lot more than that. Fascism is on the doorstep, and unlike "woke," that's not just a buzzword. How many examples of authoritarianism under the guise of freedom do you fucking need to see before you WAKE UP?! News flash: banning books, bodily autonomy, healthcare, etc., is not freedom! Going after companies who disagree with your bigoted policies is not freedom (Ron DeSantis belongs in jail). Dismantling public education to keep the population ill-informed and ignorant is not freedom. Having to worry about getting gunned down whenever you leave your house is not fucking freedom. P.S. This angle shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody. I truly pity people who are stupid enough to get sucked into right-wing bull shit. I came close to letting it poison my mind and hope to influence others to see just how fucked up and wrong they truly are.
Double P.S.
How fitting is it that this piece is my 100th blog of the year?
Song: It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over (1991)
Artist: Lenny Kravitz Album: Mama Said
I love this song; it's been in my rotation a ton lately, but as a future Barstool employee, I am legally obligated to include this clip whenever talking about Lenny Kravitz.
In the age of the internet, there are countless examples that show how much money a million or billion dollars truly is. The Jeff Bezos rice video immediately comes to mind. A million seconds is like 11 days, and a billion seconds is like 33 years. That's off the top of the dome. I'm not looking up the actual numbers, but it's something along those lines. Those numbers (million & billion) are thrown around so much that I feel like it's been normalized that a million bucks isn't a ton of money. It still is. I'd take a million right now. If you made $75,000 a year and didn't spend a cent of it, it'd take you over 13 years to save a million dollars. When you realize how much money the rich actually have, it's insane.
Look at Diddy née Puff Daddy. I knew he was rich; you likely did as well. But it takes a different type of rich to spend FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS A DAY paying a fellow millionaire musician because you stole their bassline in a song paying homage to your murdered pal (R.I.P. B.I.G.) and not have it devastate you.
Even though both of these men are loaded, that's still live changing money to regular people. Image if you got 5k a day for a fucking month, forget a lifetime. That's $140-155K depending on the month.
I can't front, when I first saw this story I thought it was a joke. Since Sting and Sean's numbers were different maybe there's some truth to that, but if Diddy is telling the truth, that means he's paying Sting $1,8250,000 a year ($1,8255,000 on leap years) for sampling "Every Breathe You Take" in his Grammy winning #1 hit. 1.82M a year since 1997 is nearly 50 million dollars. Upon further research, the Sting clip that Diddy quote-tweeted is from a 2018 interview. Last year, Sting sold the rights to his songwriting catalog to Universal for $300 million, so in a lame twist, Diddy is really paying a corporation $5K a day. Morale of the story, you should always get permission before sampling someone. I'm a huge music guy and I still barely understand (aka not at all) how all the legal shit with rights and usage works. I guess Puffy ain't sweating too much!!!
Regardless of how much Diddy has to pay and who it's going to, you can't put a price on art (that is a lie!). This is still one of the best live performances in award show history. It's so sad that the VMAs are irrelevant now.
Last night I was at the Garden with my best e-bro to watch the shorthanded Celtics take down the Toronto Raptors 97-93.
With only two games left in the regular season, the C's are locked into the #2 seed for the second year in a row. Boston plays for championship banners, but it is worth noting last night's win also clinched the Celtics their second-straight Atlantic Division title.
It wasn't the prettiest game, but when you're down 3 starters, all that matters is picking up the W. Malcolm Brogdon showed out. Jayson knows!!!
Malcolm's been a PERFECT fit in Boston. I'm glad he feels the same way.
Of course, you'd rather have home-court adv throughout the playoffs, but this team has shown countless times that they can win on the road. They clinched the East in Miami last year and beat the Bucks in Milwaukee twice in the 2nd round.
This Celtics roster is good enough to win a championship. Yeah, sometimes I worry about Coach Joe and his inexperience. Jayson is prone to mix in a 3/21 night. We could be better on the glass, but this team is on a mission. I don't see anybody other than the Bucks taking them down in the East. Should we get past Milwaukee, we'll have home-court in the Finals. Who knows, the Cavs or Knicks can do us a solid and knock them out in the 2nd round. I don't know what's gonna happen; all I know is I can't wait for the playoffs to start. The 2nd seed worked out pretty well for us last season. Hopefully, this summer, the C's will finish the job. It's green bleeding season!!
